How many want VR support in Dirt 4?

A lot.
TL;DR; only PC, without monitor and vr-set:
$2,480 (AU$3,325, £1,865)

https://www.cnet.com/how-to/build-a-vr-pc/

That is an entirely unnecessary cost! My pc is probably worth about £1100 now and it runs my rift absolutely fine even with supersampling but you could even run it at lower specs, I just went reasonably all out.

Depends upon your system but now with Asynchronous Space Warp you can run decent settings with an average rig. I run an 17-6700k@4.6 with a GTX1080 and I have everything on highest graphics settings at 2xMSAA and with pixel density at 2.0 (increases the resolution in the headset and makes the image much denser in detail) Rift & Vive both run at 90hz image.  If I switch back to my 40inch 4K I set res at 2880x1620 custom at 60hz and I can run same settings but even though the graphics are higher rez there is just no compare for the immersion factor and sense of really being in the car in a rally.

I've seen quite a few streamers with VR, and I couldn't even tell if they were running lower settings or not. Maybe they had great PC's... not sure.

I can imagine VR owners are still small target. But today already, VRready mark next to title is important PR-wise.

I used to be (hardcore) simracer for about 15 years, using various HW configs and accessories to improve immersion. Right now I don't spend the same amount of time as in past fpr racing. But also since I bought Vive I don't really want to play racing/rally games on monitors. It's just not acceptable to me. Immersion given by VR is incomparable to anything I tried before. I just dismounted my 3 monitors rig ;)
Simply put, I'm not gonna buy DR4 unless it has VR.

I have always loved racing games so I invested in a Logitech G29 racing wheel and shifter for my PS4 and PC however since getting a PSVR headset last year I've had to sell every game except Dirt Rally and Driveclub VR. SCREEN RACING JUST DOESN'T COME CLOSE TO VR RACING

Since it's unsre if Dirt 4 will really get full use of PS4 Pro or Scorpio - there is not much of an idea with VR either.

When it's time to buy 4K monitor or 3-monitor setup, I might consider VR instead if there is a standard by then and an investment that will live on.
But this is more like 5 years ahead.

I'm willing to pay extra for the game with VR support (maybe an extra 25%), but won't be buying at all without it - I'll continue to play Dirt Rally and PCars in VR instead.

It'd be nice to get VR into Dirt 4 at some point. Whether its a free update or paid for  DLC doesn't really bother me.

Assetto Corsa
Project Cars
Project Cars 2
Raceroom Racing Experience
Live For Speed
and now rFactor 2

Titles I have but no longer play due to no VR
F1 2016

I dont think the tech is really there yet. And those VR goggles are too expensive for me to care

its there for sure... i currently use VR and in driving titles its mind blowing...
other titles for VR are currently in the showcase stages and no real solid titles.

depends... a lot of mid range machines can handle it but not on full ultra settings.
i was running an rx480 and a 5 year old i5 oced to 4.6ghz..
could play dirt rally and iracing fine but had to knock some settings down a bit so there was no stuttering.

since getting a 1080 its everything on max and looking sooooo much better :D

i will be purchasing it in advance due to huge discount on the pre release purchase.
if it wasnt discounted so much i wouldnt be purchasing it knowing full well i wont be able to play it

but i sure as hell wont be playing it until VR support is available.
i cant, as my racing rig with VR is no where near my monitors.

for the ones that havent tried VR in a racing sim you need to....
it cannot be explained how much better it is, you have to experience it for yourself to fully appreciate it.

I have been gaming DiRT Rally, Assetto Corsa and Project Cars with VR the past year, I will be a big step down to go back to gaming on a screen for DiRT 4. I hope the support for VR comes asap! :)

VR will come for sure, it did for Dirt Rally, so no reason it doesn't here as well. Question is only when.

Anyone who doesn't care about VR probably hasn't tried it in a proper setup.  Any developer putting out a cockpit based game that doesn't take full advantage of VR is way behind the times and should be ashamed.  They can't be very proud of their work if they don't want to show it off in the best possible way.  The sense of being there even in a low end VR headset is so far ahead of even the best three monitor setups it's remarkable.  I used to play Dirt Rally on three 27 inch Asus monitors, now I play it with revive on a Vive headset and I hate the thought of going back to flat space.

I'll buy Dirt 4 regardless, but I would like it to include support for VR, and not just the Rift this time, go full on Steam VR so any existing headset can run it.

There wasn't any time. It will come after release.

I have nothing to do with the development of the game, and I'm proud of what they've done, so there's that.

Just was about to preorder, but wanted to be sure, there is VR (what I expected, cause Dirt Rally is fantastic in VR).Glad I did. Only buying the game, when there is VR in it. Even if it is a DLC, but it has to be there.

Dirt 4 is bargain bin buy for me if there's no Vive / Rift support on PC, meaning "buy when it's 80+% off in a steam sale" or something like that.

I've tried it in a proper set up, I don't care about it. I'd rather they put out a game that everyone can play and release a DLC if there's enough interest later. Rather than half a game only a select few can play from the start

I have a Rift and agree with you, while I really want VR we are a niche customer at the moment.
