DiRT 3 | PC | MULTIPLAYER | Connection Problems

I'm trying to play DiRT 3 online with a friend. But everytime we invite eachother it says: NETWORK ERROR: SESSION NO LONGER AVAILABLE

We are able to play against other people just fine, but when one of us is in a session the other can't see that session so it's impossible to join.

Is there an workaround for this? (i've tried deleting him from my friendlist but that didn't work) 

And if not, is their an ETA for the Steam port which hopefully fixes it since it's an entirely different system? (if you announced it last year it should be possible to say if it's gonna be ready in a few weeks, months or not until next year)
