UDegani
hello everyone, since we are hopefully going to be able to mod DiRT 4 i decided to start the thread for modding discussions for DiRT 4, also for me personally i wanted to start taking requests for liveries for DiRT 4, as soon as its possible to mod DiRT 4 i want to start to convert all my liveries i made for DiRT Rally in to DiRT 4, then if @meerkat80 allows me (if he isn't doing liveries anymore) to use his liveries for DiRT Rally as basis for me to remake them all for DiRT 4 (all in my current standards). I also have plans to make some other texture mods depending on how modable the game would be, so fell free to post your requests for the cars that will be in DiRT 4 (for reference here is the list of confirmed cars)
TheFlyingTuga
Will it be possible? Because If I do remembered right Kick Up said that making liveries into the game would be different!

versedi
I'd love Robert Kubica's Fiesta WRC to be ported to R5. I know you don't like unrealistic things, but it will be one of the things I'll miss from DR - Fiesta WRC.Besides I think it is a really good livery, plus a bit challenging with a bit matte graphite color:
Phoenixwin
Repost from Dirt rally custom liveries thread. Did'nt know you guys work fast. For those who like to mod DiRT 4 car liveries, there may be a way.http://zenhax.com/viewtopic.php?p=23971#p23971use offzip as shown in the post. There will be lots of files extracted.I think liveries files are ending with pss. Change it to pssg for modification and then change back to pss. Then use packzip to insert the modified file to the nefs file. Download:site: http://aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz.htmoffzip: http://aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz/offzip.zip packzip: http://aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz/packzip.zipI have not tried as I am only interested to mod other things. Don't know whether the modified nefs will be accepted by the game.
Ballistica
Historic liveries for classic rally cars would always be appreciated
HRMStealth
Offzip works :)It's just a matter of finding the right bits now and figuring out if it can be reimported properly. ;)

UDegani
uuuhhhhhh sooo we can make new patterns BUT there is one for each car unlike Grid autosport where the game used to apply the same pattern to all cars if we want to make a custom pattern we have do make it fit on every single car in the game, that's why there is a very limited amount of them

pigloaf
Legends! Could you pretty please confirm if DR textures map onto D4 models nicely? Hopefully they don't require too much re-work...Don't mod everything before I get home next week!!! haha.

UDegani
hoonhead said: He guys, nice found. I also got it working extracting the files from nefs with offzip. packing it not figured out yet, but maybe some of you know more about it. string used in cmd.exe to open nefs: offzip -a -z -15 -Q -x -c 0x10000 mr5.nefs OUTPUT_FOLDER For example go to c: and put (all in same root) there the mr5.nefs file, create a folder in c: named OUTPUT_FOLDER and unpack in c: the offzip tool. Then go to cmd.exe and enter the string mentioned above. All files will be extracted now in the OUTPUT_FOLDER. You will see pss files in the folder. Change for example 05b13ef7.pss into 05b13ef7.pssg and open it with the latest EGO PSSG Editor. You will now have one of the liveries of the Mitsubishi R5. you can edit the .dds as usual and save it pack into the pssg. next rename the file back to 05b13ef7.pss. from this point on i get stucked repacking the file back to mr5.nefs. I have these options for offzip: and for packzip these options i got exactly up to this point as well

Phoenixwin
I think can try command:packzip mod.pss example.nefswhere mod.pss is the modified file and example.nefs is the liveries file you are modding, all files in the same directory.
