Dirt 4 very disappointing

I have been waiting for this game for a long time, now it has arrived i have to say i am very very disappointed. First off the graphics are SHOCKING - it is the standard of an xbox 360 game at best. The textures on the trees are laughable as are the interiors of the cars. 

I thought the FFB and driving physics of Dirt Rally on a wheel were superb but something is now missing. Just feels not there. I play in simulation mode. The steering is now heavier but does not have the same road feel as dirt rally it now just feels all a bit random especially in rally cross and with the buggies. There is a real sense that the thrill has left the game. Dirt rally was a white knuckle ride this just feels like a frustrating mess. I really don't understand a backward step being taken in not only the driving experience but also graphics. Oh well!

Couldn't agree more. I was absolutely shocked by the graphics. I've obsessively been fiddling with my tv settings and I can't get it looking any better than Dirt 3. 
Handling has definitely taken a bit of a hit compared to Dirt Rally.
Feel like I've wasted my money.

we want hardcore simulation that will break our egos and make us bend on our knees.
i have given a feedback on physics thread please check it out and if you agree with it then make it reach top so that CM can see it.
I genuinely want to improve this game and help CM achieving it.

It's been bugging me too, I just don't get why it should be any different or worse than DR...but the textures just seem poorer

You lot must be playing a different game to me? I'm on standard PS4 outputting to a 55 inch 4K tv and the graphics appear to be far better than dirt rally, especially the lighting as you scream through the forests of Wales.
 Hope you are not comparing the replays instead of the gameplay these are deffo pants on Dirt 4 as they are low res and run at 30fps?  
'Have you checked in the settings to make sure that it is outputting at 1080 and not 720?, oops sorry if you are on an Xbox then you will have inferior graphics to us PS4 users.

I am on xbox one all the settings are as they should be. Also been to a friends with xbox one and the graphics are equally as poor. Many people are complaining about the state of the graphics online so its not just an issue for me.

Must be an Xbox issue then as the PS4 is excellent, at least you should have better ffb on the Xbox if you are using a wheel and not the weakfish offering I've got to put up with on my T300.

Jesus is that an issue again? I had a ps4 last year with Dirt Rally also with a T300 and couldn't believe how bad the ffb was compared to xbox, was the main reason i went back to xbox to be honest.

IMO graphics are the same but maybe a little better. Road surfaces are much better. When it rains it gets slick as snot, it didnt do that very much in DR. Handling and FFB on my T300rs is great and better than on DR. It wasnt good at first on DR, but it came around after updates.

I thought it was me... so i kept with it past two hours, but really this still needs a shit load of work to get it anywhere near DiRT Rally in all aspects, graphics, physics, and track generator still need far too much work.. 60 Euros for this? feeling robbed right now.. not being lured into purchasing another Codmasters title before unbiased reviews and the tile has been released for a while.. and apparently Meeke and the Solbergs had input into this? if its any input further than coming along for press days for a play then im very surprised..

Congratulations Gents! If you're not happy with the product as it currently stands, I'd recommend you to stop playing and request a refund to get your money back. If you've passed the refund time period due to buying digitally, I suggest lighting your system on fire and putting this whole mess behind you.

Why was everyone expecting a sequel to DR? It's new stages, new phys, couple new cars and game types eerily similar to the other titles. DR was a one off, test of sorts which was phenomenal . 

Theyve made D4 more accessible to a broad base which will make them ¢$£¥ etc. which in turn could eventually produce the rally game we deserve and CM longs to birth

Graphics wise the car models look amazing but due to the fact there's unlimited rally stages, they're not as crisp and textured as DR. Physics are impeccable-ish, just​ because the car doesn't slide for eternity doesn't make them wrong. I'm sure there'll be a multitude of patches including addressing gravel issues.  If you don't like it go back to DR or go outside or something

Don't even say if your playing sim handling. And the physics from Dirt Rally make you happy with cars taking off to Mars if you make a minor mistake on the berm of the road, you don't know what sim handling and physics are. 

I do agree the graphics are a little off from what I expected and do agree Dirt Rally LOOKED better. However, DiRT 4 PLAYS better. A lot better. It's so much easier being fast in D4 vs DR by a large margin because of the IMPROVED physics. Sure, they're not perfect as some things make me scratch me head, but the game is far from trash and unplayable.

Dirt 4 is actually a complete game where as Dirt Rally was a budget game that never really got a finish feel to it. Dirt Rally was a test bed to show there's still an interest in a hardcore sim. And they proved exactly that. So now we have a full game that can cater to everyone , with so many things that improved. 

Of that doesn't make you happy, so be it. One less person to worry about in the leader boards.

I find the graphics aren't bad at all on a standard ps4, especially at night/sunset.
Btw, go to the 'Graphics' options and reduce the brightness to 0.6 or 0.5, it helps make the colours pop more and looks  less washed out.

Best racing game on PS4 yet! I think the physics are awesome on gamer mode! If you guys hate it go back to crappy dirt rally

Dirt rally has all sorts of completely screwed physics. Don't know what to tell you except refund it and please stop crying.
