Handling of the dirt buggies

Recommended Posts

Is it just me who struggles to handle these on the gravel? Under braking under throttle I just can't keep them in a straight line, feather the throttle or brake and they just keep spinning every time, I'm on dual shock 4 and really am struggling

Try to do some practice sessions before the race. You can try to control your throttle and brakes without worrying about opponents.

It should help you learn to stay fast and keep the buggy in control at the same time. Good luck.

I wasn't too bad with the buggies, but I really struggled with the Pro2 trucks. I ended up turning the traction control onto 1 to try and get the lines and braking right, then I switched TC off once I got a bit quicker.

As said above try and run a few practice laps with no other cars before you throw other trucks in the mix! Only brake in a straight line, try to avoid any very tight turns and only apply maximum throttle when you are pointing in a straight line!

Try stiffening the front suspension so that you don't get so much weight transfer off the rear wheels under heavy braking, it should help prevent back end coming round on you quite a bit?

Good luck! I am planning to try the Pro4 trucks later, I hope the 4WD will make them a bit less of a handful!

My issue with them is they slide to a stop on me, if I try to turn hard under throttle.
I could understand the car spinning/slipping, to the point it would lose some forward momentum, and go into uncontrollable oversteer, but sliding to a stop?

As much as I enjoyed it in previous releases, this version of Landrush is a total turnoff to me.

I decided to squeeze the Pro4 Championship in between a couple of rally events last night, they are far less of a handful than the Pro2 trucks and, aside from the Dirtfish area, probably the most fun I've had in Dirt 4 so far. Loads of big slides, sideways corner entries and very shouty V8's!

For the trucks (and maybe the buggies or karts, I haven't tried it with them yet) I found going for longer gearing helped a lot.

Had a go yesterday with the buggies and Pro2 trucks.
Did a bunch of practice first to get the track layout, then had a blast.
Love the RWD truck.

Spot on. I hated all LR disciplines with a passion especially the crosskarts until I stretched the gears - pretty much drivable now
