Gamebreaking PS4 bug: loading Stage 1, Event 3/4 of Euro Sealed Rally crashes my PS4 Pro every time

Recommended Posts

I've been playing the Dirt 4 career mode for a few hours and when I try to play the 3rd event, stage 1/1 of the Euro Sealed Rally, the game hard locks my PS4 Pro at the loading screen until the PS4 Pro crashes and I have to unplug the power cable in order to turn it off.  I've reproduced this twice in a row, each time at the same spot.  This is a pretty serious issue as it's putting my PS4 Pro's hard drive at risk.

I have replaced my save data with last night's save data from the cloud, thinking maybe it was a corrupted file.  Nope, still hard locks my console at the exact same spot.  After yanking the power cable for the third time and restarting my console, I'm going to back up all of my save data to the cloud, delete Dirt 4, then redownload it to see if maybe it is a corrupted file in the game that might be fixed by a reinstall.

I too had this issue with my 'normal' PS4, however the crash occurred when loading the first stage of the Sealed Rally event. When the crash happens I get a PS4 error message saying the game file is corrupt (I downloaded from the PSN) and suggests I delete the game and reinstall.

I deleted the game, downloaded again and sure enough it fixed the loading issue on this specific stage... however then struggled at the next sealed stage instead. I haven't seen this issue with any other rallies so far. I also noticed that on Saturday (22/7/17) I couldn't upload any stage times, however after reinstalling on Sunday (23/7/17) I could upload. Not sure if this is a server issue or game issue - I only purchased on Saturday!

My game is currently on the external partition, but have had no issues playing other games off this drive.

Any ideas Codies? Thanks

Not sure about crash issue, but there was problem with Dirt4 servers in this weekend, so nobody could connect to racenet and upload results! They fixed that only yesterday evening!

Ah, thanks Haris33 - I did think it was unlikely the reinstall had fixed the leaderboard issue. Hopefully the source of the install corrupt can be nailed down (or the cause of the resulting error...)

Downloaded a week or two ago but made PS4 place the file on the internal storage, I've not had much chance to test but so far so good... Sure my external HDD is fine though as not had this issue with other games.
