[CAREER MODE] Something I noticed in the E3 interview footage

Recommended Posts

When Lee was doing the classic car pursuit around Bahrain, the AI drivers in the other classic cars had names like Saari, Kaufmann and Michalski. That got me thinking: what if one of the improvements to career mode is that as the career progresses, some of the real drivers get replaced by fictional drivers like those in the video? That would give us driver transfers in career mode but without any sponsorship or licensing issues. So no more of Raikkonen still driving for Ferrari in 2027.

Of course having real F1 drivers and real junior drivers moving from team to team would be preferable but this would be a start, I guess?

maybe a bit too much speculation, they could just be codies employees who set times on that build of the game as like a benchmark

Nah. It was like the scenario mode from the old games and those were AI cars that you have to overtake.

Maybe, but possibly just the people who drive when you do the classic cars in career. I doubt when we get invited to the classic events it will have real driver names. But then the question why any names at all on the career invites so perhaps it is true only time will tell.

I don't think the FIA and teams would allow this.

They allow our created drivers to drive their modern cars and fictional drivers to drive their classic cars. It's not a big stretch.

Career mode is very different to random drivers name in the teams. I can't imagine Red Bullwould like to hear that Michal and Vaari drive their cars in 2023 in career mode for example.

How is that different from our own avatars driving for Red Bull?

Like I said in 2016, they should add the reserve drivers and make them replace one of the drivers after a couple of seasons.
