Mate, have you even seen the new official Broadcast Graphics / HUD?

It looks cartoonish as hell as if it was specifically made for a videogame, thus it surely does fit any, hypothetical, official F1 game or content by all means as it clearly isn't obstructive nor intrusive at all (something that liveTOwin impressively has already proven with his amazing concept arts).

Even if it was both obstructive and or intrusive, all the other officially licenced sportsgames (FIFA / NBA / NHL / MLB / NASCAR / NFL / Olympia / Handball / WWE / UFC / Tour de France / MotoGP / WRC / Rugby etc.) have got the official TV presentation as default even though some of them look totally hideous and unappealing to the point that one could question the artistic abilities of the designers.

Also, ironically, almost all the old F1 Games had the official HUD as well, so why the feck should Codemasters not take the same path?

Official licence = Official Presentation (MUST HAVE)

There is no inbetween, unless of course the gaming studio wants to offer the official HUD + their selfmade HUD at the same time to make all parties happy, but that is a matter of personal choice.

Still, leaving the fanbase with no answer as to why they won't include certain features FOR YEARS is a sign of bad customer service, which is absolutely inexcusable and most importantly unacceptable behaviour from a company that is most definitely interested in generating profits through our hardearned money, but then again as long as the sales are up they probably won't give a damn, so for us there are only 5 solutions left to give a clear message to this mess and have clarity for once:

1.Boycott the product alltogether (only for the truly dedicated people that won't break their word and want to keep themselves safe from scammers / unmotivated developers / greedy studios etc.).

2.Buy second hand (only for those that do share the sentiment of boycott, still want to have the experience of the game but do not want to become a criminal by pirating or nuking humanity into oblivion).

3.Delay purchase to wait for a sale or a warehouse deal (only for those that still have a little hope in Codemasters and want to support the company with a small fee).

4.Piracy (only for those that do not believe in our massively biased and corrupted monetary system but rather sail under the flag of pure freedom).

5.Nuke Humanity (only for those that want to make an end to the parasites called humans once and for all).

People getting so upset when someone explains them something that is very obvious, I don't get that. I really don't understand why people are still on this forum trying to get answers as already for years it has been clear that the forum is the last place where information is shared?

We are living in 2018. Forums are from the past, to pass on news and updates social media is way more convenient. That's why you should go outside of the "official" community forum from Codemasters and ask the questions at the official Twitter account. The world has evolved so should you.

All I know, that 06 (CE) had HUD designed after the official Broadcast style graphics.
Earlier Sony series, I don't know, since I haven't watched game play vids, nor have played them.
Geoff Crammond's GP series had the official broadcast graphics on trackside camera view, but not on T-cam or other camera views (I have GP3 AND GP4, so don't even try to debunk this)

And while yes, the new graphics are cartoonish, it STILL doesn't mean, that it would of been made to be used as HUD of the game. 
And Official licence doesn't equal official presentation. We have HUD style that, yet again, DOES THE BLOODY JOB. And does it well enough to nullify your childish rages about having official graphics as HUD.

doesn't mean, that you should start raging about wanting answer, when, like I already said, raging about it won't get your question answered.

And, what comes to your 5 points:

1. Go ahead, boycott the game all you want. It's your choice. This again, is one of those childish "I WANT IT, AND I WANT IT NAO!!!!11!!" temper tantrums. Of course, everyone can do whatever they please to do.
2. Except, at the moment, it looks, like the gaming industry is trying to go for digital only releases more and more. This way, they can eliminate second hand market, oh, well...
3. Again, everyone can do whatever they please. The delaying of purchase might even be smart, so you don't need to put up with all of the "game breaking bugs", that for some reason go unfixed before launch (even though I myself haven't ever come across any "game breaking bugs", even when I have gotten the game at launch)
4. You SERIOUSLY just told someone to pirate the game on game publishers official forum? Dang, you must be... Oh, wait. Let's not go there.
5. Aha. Right... I don't even have anything to say about this one...

And you can vote with you wallet all you want. Except this issue, if you can even call it issue is not big enough to boycott something.
Having official broadcast graphics as HUD IS NOT good reason to boycott something.

Oh, why you should go to other places to ask questions? How many times you have seen any of community managers answer a question on these forums?

You may not like it but both @Tunari89 and @BelgiumDude are right. Developers don't usually answer questions on their own forums anymore they do it via social media networks such as Twitter and Reddit or whatever it's called. As I remember having a question about Mass Effect Andromeda last year before it was released so I asked one of Bioware's developers on Twitter and got an answer to my question. Forums these days are only used for 2/3 things now. General promotion and discussion of games and bug reports for games that have been released so they know what needs fixing. They are not these days used for interacting with developers themselves any more

A suggestion for @Faya @jennyannem and various mods it may be a good idea to set up a twitter thread on the various sections to help spread what's been talked about there on here kind of like what we have on Bioware's forums

In regards to the official HUD and broadcast graphics, like you the first time we really saw the new F1 broadcast rebrand was when it was revealed live to the general public which came right at the end of our development cycle for F1 2018....and at the moment F1 are continuing to refine it as they go. Rest assured that we are looking to introduce the official graphics over time. You will start to see some elements being brought into this year’s game – (and you’ve heard this here first) the intro, the theme music, track maps, which bring us more in line with the official broadcast approach – and we will continue to add more into the next game. Since gaming is interactive whereas watching Formula 1 isn’t, there will inevitably be some components which won’t work, but the intention is for us to incorporate the new branding into our official F1 products where it makes sense to do so.

To be fair to codemasters, they did respond a while back saying they will consider it in future releases (this was a response to exclusion of F1 2017).
Point being, clearly all they need to do is see the poll stats, our comments towards each other are hair and teeth pulling. If they were to read them for any further insight they'd quickly stop.

yeah I'm not sure I'm even going to care much after F1 2018 either really because of the direction F1 is going so I can see myself saying goodbye to it. I'll still keep playing the ones I own including 2018 when I get it but I don't think it's likely I'll be buying any new ones afterwards.

First, I want to thank you for your post and providing us with some kind of info on this topic.

However, there are 2 questions I would sincerely ask you regarding your post:

First, you said you saw the new F1 broadcast rebrand first when it was revealed to the public (that was end of March, Australian GP). You then say that this time is at the end of your development cycle for the upcoming F1 game? Really? You saw the new F1 graphics in March and this game is supposed to drop in late August and you claim that all the development is almost done by late March? Well, sounds a little bit confusing to say the least.

Second, how can a mobile game (F1 Mobile Racing) which is also set to hit the app stores this fall can have the official F1 graphic hud (at least some sort of version resembling it) but not the real game? The TV style hud in that mobile game looks so much better and more realistic than the one we seem to get in F1 2018 only showing three positions (ours and the one in front of and behind us). Can't you transfer the hud from one game to the other?

After doing my hud with the game telemetry based in the 2018 graphics, I should say that I feel like I'm watching F1, also it's more informative than the game hud, things like session time and 20 drivers table are not present in the game hud (session time only during the end of session), at the moment this program is only avalaible in PC, I think it could work in PS4 or Xbox with the remote play.

Man i love what you did! Finally it's possible to see what is going in during a race. Would be perfect if CM would implement something like this, maybe even allow to show 5,10 or 20 cars for example.

Very nice! however I agree with those who voted against, the left column is too long. 

The “ fastest lap” and upper right box graphics are fine in my opinion. Is it possible to add those in a post release update?

Besides, if the column is as long, as that is, there isn't enough space for track map, which imho, is a MUST have. Just because it's also nice to see, that where next car on front, or back is, in comparison to the player. Another, thing: Again, where's the speedometer, again? And no, I don't want to see the speedometer, like we have on the broadcasts, it's too big, even in TV broadcast...
