F1 2017 Career Mode Teams

Recommended Posts

Not sure, but I plan to start with either Renault or Sauber. Depends if Renault is slow enough. Then instead of building up to a championship, I want to team hop and move up to a top team.

Since F1 2010 I used to always start with Lotus/Caterham, since Caterham pulled out I moved to Manor, now Manor is gone I need a new backmarker to start with - But now there isn't really any backmarker team everybody is the midfield, all mingling.

I'm gonna make the Honda engine more powerful than Mercedes if its the last thing I do!

I would talk about reliability but did you see Hamilton last year?

0% Mercedes, either people didn't want to be Hamilton's servant or they didn't want Bottas costing them the constructors.

And that is how to annoy 2 fan bases simultaneously.

Mclaren alongside Alonso. Want to see if it's as stressful as Fernando says..

Sauber is definitely a backmarker this year :)

They've scored points though. That's midfield stuff. But I guess they are the worst out of all the teams.

But were manor a midfield team last year or 2014 when they scored points?

I've started with Sauber. I'm at Spa now & 6th in the standings with 89% difficulty. I wanted to start with a back marker & progress. Starting from a good team & already winning the championship would tend to get boring if I wish to play for 10 years in Career mode.

Driving the same cars and drivers for ten years seems a bit boring to me too...
I've read a few comments which state that if You shift teams, You lose certain benefits that have been earned. I think resource points get affected for sure. It would be fun to complete 3 years in a team before making a move.

A career would be great if we start from the first Codemasters game and work our way up, with all the cars, tracks and drivers of the past years. Driving in the same surroundings doing a number of seasons doesn't appeal to me, no matter if you change teams or not. It's not realistic. Changing team seems like doing the same season again from another point of view.

I’m going to choose Alfa Romeo at the start cause it looks amazing, then I might move on to McLaren after a few seasons and bring it back to it’s glory days

I'm in the Sauber as of now in the 1st season. I wonder if I continue for a few years, would the engine power improve substantially or not? I'm confused as they've been using the '16 Ferrari engine so it's not like they would get an upgrade to '17 Ferrari engine.
