Why does the karting events suck?

Anyone else been in the karting races yet? the AI are unaffected by anything you do, like hitting them, and if you are hit, or they hit you, you spin and crash, and they are unaffected. Feels like they have been programmed wrong. Also, why are there no judges for the other drivers? like you can get called on a corner cut, but the other racers can ram into you? feels like an old need for speed game
