Monaco Hairpin better with Keyboard than Controller

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I have a problem: I can take the Monaco hairpin almost 100% of the times, regardless of which line I choose, and even if I'm at a wrong speed (lower or higher), if I'm using the keyboard (first half of the video). I've recently switched to a controller (XBOX 360/PC), yet I always crash/clip in the hairpin. I simply find it hard to steer; I can only take the corner when I'm lucky and it steers through the optimal line and at the right speed (~40 kph) (less than 10% of attempts). In all the other races I have no problem with the controller.

With the keyboard I can always tackle the hairpin, even if I pick a wrong line or I'm at a wrong speed (lower, for example), with the controller, I can't. Is there any solution to this?  Should I also change some of the sensitivity options?

Here's the movie https://youtu.be/5pnFfdM8BUw.

You just gotta take the right line, straight in, down to first, off the throttle and full lock till you're through.

It still doesn't seem to steer/turn enough like the keyboard does (only in the hairpin), which I find odd (since with the controller I can take turns much better than with the keyboard on other tracks) and I find it weird that the keyboard gives me more room for error in the hairpin than the controller :/.

I think there's a steering lock option somewhere, possibly? Keyboard would definitely have some sorry of steering help applied, I would expect

Hm, there are some options regarding steering deadzone, liniarity and saturation, but I'm not sure how they affect the control.

You know what? I definitely think that with the keyboard it steers more.
