Dirt 4: the disappearing speedometer!!!

Recommended Posts

Allright so..  DiRT 4 seems like a fine game... BUT... one (to me very big) flaw i've noticed is the lack of a speedometer hud when driving in the cockpit view, it just disappears when Changing from the exterior view! All the other views have it but not the cockpit view? Why? It dosn't make sense at all, and whats even worse... as far as I can see there's no option anywhere to turn it on???

As if driving with manual transmission in cockpit view isnt enough of a challenge! Without a prober speedometer to monitor speed and gear It's completely bananas...

Im Looking forward to hear your feedback on this matter and i do hope that you can fix this!

What PaloSamo said... just use your dashboard since you're in cockpit view? I think the some of the Landrush vehicles don't have speedometers (only tachometers) but that's not an issue for that type of vehicle, you should be going off RPM anyway. ;)

something noteworthy about rally cars is that they don't necessarily have speedos in a spot the driver would be paying attention to them, don't think the ford focus 2001 had one infront of the driver, also, thinking this guy may not have had one:

Most usually there's no speedometer in stage mode - why would you need it, there's no time to look at it.

In stagemode, you have RPM indicator if you should switch to upper gear though (which you can see here - these green/red leds infront of driver).

Why would you need a speedometer anyways? Pretty much all you need is a gear indicator and a shift indicator for high revs. A rev counter might be nice, but not crucial.
