VetteIfan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFtwPpKarKsFrom the horses mouth: "It seems that Spanish TV is believing more in me than at some stages in my team" I think this was from Spa. The Thursday of this race weekend he was also asked "Can you guarantee you'll be at Red Bull next season?". To which he simply replied "No... but I have a contract with the team ". "I have offers from other teams it's true, nothing is decided yet". There was even a report in Italy (again) that Vettel (with a Mclaren offer on the table) wants "certain technical assurances" on Mclaren's car for next year. Apparently Honda are eager to show Vettel some "exciting" data relating to their new engine. I don't know if it's just me, but all this doesn't sound cast iron commitment to Red Bull. Even if the reports from Italy are BS, his quotes can't be ignored. Not all is well behind the scenes at RB.
Jiggy
I really wouldn't want to see Vettel at McLaren. One of my favorite drivers at my least favorite F1-team.Although I can't blame him for not joining Ferrari, that's on them.
AMSKRR
As I've said in the past, I'd like to see Vettel somewhere new, prove he can win a WDC in a new team. I hope he goes there.

I know Ferrari aren't exactly setting the world on fire with their pace either, but joining McLaren would make no sense. The Honda engine, even if its as good as the Mercedes, will mean nothing if the car is still as bad as it is. Its probably the worst car out of the Mercedes powered cars. The Toro Rosso is probably an equal car to it.

AMSKRR
I hope he leaves. I want Vettel somewhere different and I hope Alonso wins a 3rd WDC as he deserves it, so it might be a good move.

I don't think Merc is that far in front, and no one else will get close to redbull once their power units are sorted by renault?

If they are, the RBR is as good as the Merc (or very very close)
GoldenColt
And you're both assuming that without Newey's input the future RB-chassis will be as good as the ones from 2010-2013.

There is this as well. If RBR had a Merc engine this year they'd be right with Mercedes, but even if Renault get the engine up to the performance it needs to be, doesn't mean the car will be up to scratch. No-one knows how much the changes at RBR are going to affect 2015/16/17 cars though. Might make no difference at all.
Lukedfrt
From a championship point of view, I would rather be at Red Bull for the next few seasons compared to Ferrari if i was Alonso.
