F1 Driving Proficiency

Recommended Posts

Hi guys im new to this forum but im a freq reader. So i would like to ask my driving proficiency compared to everyone else as a benchmark for me. Alright the driving details

(2009 - Now) PSP
Gran Turismo, all assists off and manual gearing
Use F2007 for all races, conquered all tracks at S levels

(2013- mid 2017) PC
F1 2013, all assist on including TC Full and Brake Assists Low and ofc Manual Gearing. Did Legend level races and still 2-3 seconds ahead. Used a gamepad. Thousand of km experience.

(Mid 2017- Now) PS4 + LogiG29
F1 2016 PS4 bought 3 days ago, [STORY TELLING] i used ds4 for the first few hours and completely felt bored. I used the same assists etc as F1 2013. Then i used my wheel and felt super slow. I turned down the assist to TC Med and ABS Off. Currently still learning and my times are about the same/slightly faster from ds4/gamepad. Tried Ultimate level AI and start P1 finish P5 a 5 lap race at Australia using Hamilton's car. I lost 2 places at the first corner (i thought i braked late enough but its still dawn early for the AI) and the rest places lost because i was too slow out from corner/wheelspin.
And just now i set Time Trial Bahrain not bad 1:31 with assist settings same as F1 2013 and got that Top 17%. Pretty satisfied but maybe i could do better?

Im only 19 and started game racing since i was 11.

So the questions, how much do you guys rate for my racing abilities (1-n00b 10-Pro)? And how more could i improve my racing abilities? Any suggestions or comment is such a welcome.
Thanks guys!

PS:Yeah i do use those cornering ,race line etc but i can also turn it off as i memorised the track details. And i havent tried multiplayer races as i dont have ps plus subscription.

And oh i got called spoilt boy by my friends as i have ps4 and g29. But am i really that spoilt? :'(
i played F1 2016 on a 100 laps(time trial, quick race etc) on daily basis. Is having ps4 AND g29 is too much for me at my age? Do you giys think im a hardcore F1 racer enough?

Thanks again for all !!

i give u 0 becuz u doesn't know how it feel like in the real car if u haven't done any laps in a race car pm=n atrack u hardly have racing and if u paly with assits on and if u go to a new track u wouldn't even be able find the racing racing line cz u have practiced on it.

Your not spoilt for having a PS4 and wheel. They’re just jealous. I’d say your a six out of ten, I’m thirteen and consistently in top 1% most tracks but top 17 isn’t bad imo. Just practice and try to go no assists asap and you’ll rapidly improve. Consider joining a racing league as the competition will motivate you to practice more.     Gl

Hello there,

as a frequent reader you'll find a lot of truth in all of the comments.I'm new to the forum as well.So I'll try to point out the things that matter to me in racing. In a real race the important thing is consistency. This is the first thing to watch for.Playing single player races is nice but with time it gets predictable. The real deal is in multiplayer . There you race against actual people , who have different strategies and aren't predictable. You have to respect your online opponents.Start winning those races and than you can talk about proficiency scores.Scoring times in time trial is fun and educational about the track layouts. I too find your friends jealous, but in the end of the race not your controller wins but you do!So if you have skills it doesn't matter what controller you are using.

I don't think it's fair to rate your racing ability. Howver, I can say everyone wants to be the best they can and your completely entitled to try to be that. Don't let others put you down.
