F1 2017 Featurelist (Updated)

OMG! That looks awesome!!!!! It's a way bigger tree than that drawing we saw. This will take a few seasons to complete. I was already hyped but now I'm totally hyped. Let's start complaining on why it takes so long to release it.  >:) Codemasters should make time go faster. Let's start a poll on if Codemasters should manipulate time and space because I can't wait any longer  :D

well it does have to cover 10 seasons and we already know that the old 2016 tree wasn't enough so hopefully this is. I love RPG games where you get to choose how you upgrade your character as you progress. In fact I play them more than I play anything else these days I just hope it's done in such a way that you can't pick up all the skills and you have to pick and choose a bit more wisely based on what you and your team need as you play. So if this works well like other RPG's I've played this will be good. Especially with the roleplaying ideas I have in mind.

F1 2017
Release: 25.08.2017 (Friday)

Career Mode:

- Whole skill tree-type system where you choose an overall direction for your team, not just individual parts upgrades
- Engine Failures are in the game
- You can use up to around 15 of each part, but you will get penalised
- You can go back to using old units or old parts
- You have to look for your Engine
- You can use No. 1 if you win the Title
- You can change your Number and Helmet anytime during the Season
- Rose water instead of champaign on the Podium
- The session times in Career are fixed to the real session times.
- 10 Seasons for Career mode
- You can choose your Teammate in Career
- You can have more than one Career save
- AI drivers in career mode take engine penalties and have faliures in practice and qualifying
- You can't skip Practice in Career. You have to work on upgrades and manage mileage and wear and tear on engine and gearbox
- You can choose a Female driver
- A bunch of new Helmet designs were added, some created through a competition they ran
- Career invitational events for Historic Cars
- Added 2 new R&D Programms and changed one. Lift and Coast is one of them in the game. Lee Mathers: "I've been enjoying having to manage the engine and gearbox. Requires planning and thought. I also love the fuel test Practice Programme."

Multiplayer:

- 20 Drivers for Multiplayer + 2 more Slots for Spectators added
- You can drive all the Historic cars online but can't do a mix of Current gen and old Gen cars
- Historic Cars won't have the option to equal performence
- You can use Historic cars in any Mode (Time Trial, Quick Race etc.)
- Savable Championship Mode
- Online Lag seems to be gone (Where one car hits you while you drive Side-By-Side)

MISC:

- Debry will lay on the Track and effect the driver
- You can get a puncture if you drive over debry
- Improved Weathersystem (More unpredictable)
- There's an additional high power qualifying mode, besides the standard 3 Engine Modes
- AI are very racy and can get very close to the player, last minute overtakes, chasing the slipstream or trying to break it
- No collisions in the pit lane
- Semi Manual Pitstops (Push Pitlimiter, hit the Clutch before releasing the car)
- Rear tethers are in
- Car to car collision is massively improved
- No DLC plans for additional Cars or Tracks
- There's a difficulty slider in 2017 which goes up to 110%.
- TrackRl is supported
- Surface grip levels have been adjusted, and some kerbs has been remodeled
- The track rubber increases as the session goes on
- New Tracks has been added to the game, 4 alternate routes and Monaco at night
- Cars will be update to Silverstone status post release
- Williams will not have Martini as a Sponsor for Pegi 3 reasons
- PS4 Pro and Xbox One X will do 4K and HDR with a compatible TV. Xbox One S will do HDR.
- After the 18th of October you can purchase the MP 4/4 from the relevant online store

I am still hoping for SOME in-game telemetry - but this is a good list - so just pre-ordered...

Why Project Cars 2 have Martini Stripe?
because there are strict rules on some tracks where you can't use alcoholic brands. They would have to go up on the Pegi Rating for the game which of course they don't want to do.

From the looks of it codies has getting it spot on with career cant waite to get stuck into it im glad the are building on from 2016 and not starting from scratch

My only fear still is bugs. The R&D tree looks so complex it could make gameplay very buggy

Hopefully they've been working on it for a while though because something like that doesn't get developed overnight. In fact that might have been why they didn't change the 2016 one because they always intended to introduce this eventually when it was ready. RPG elements take many years to develop usually at least 2/3 years at least the ones used  in RPG games do. Of course we won't know until the game's in our hands but I really do like the look of it. Would be nice to see it in more detail and have CM explain a little about how it works. Hpoefully @jennyannem can tell us if there's something regarding this feature coming up in a trailer or something soon.

R&D tree looks mighty impressive, that's well over a 100 upgrades. Assuming you don't get to purchase an upgrade every race ( the bigger ones at least ), it looks like it'd be nearly impossible to get all of them even after 10 seasons with the same team in Career :) I think you'll really have choose a direction for what area of the car you want to focus on to develop.

It could be they are not all different upgrades. It looks like you can choose 1 of 4 paths so if that is the case you probably will see some of the same upgrades in all four paths

yeah it's possible but until we get an explanation on how it works we're not going to know I hope CM or somebody does a vid or something to explain it. Because some of these things can be quite complicated if you don't understand them. For example I struggled to figure out Dragon Age at first because I found it's systems rather convoluted but then at that time I was still pretty new to RPG's. It wasn't until I got the strategy guide later that it kind of kicked into gear as to what I was supposed  to be doing and how the whole system worked. Now because I did that I know how to play it and create the kinds of characters I like to play with and have lots of fun.

yeah I'm not a girl but I've got to admit I'm thinking of roleplaying as a hot sexy female in career mode that's making a name for herself in F1. But then I think it comes down to the fact I do quite often enjoy playing kick ass females in games a lot these days as I do it a lot in RPG's that I own. I already know what I'm going to call my female driver. The only thing I don't know yet is what number to give her. I do have a number in mind but I'm not 100% certain I'll be able to pick it is all.

At 1:30, they mention around 115 skills in the R&D tree to unlock.
At 8:20 they talk about some sort of "Photo mode" for PC only where you can take advantage from the 4K to take great pictures of your car, the track, focusing on the crowd, tweaking with filters etc...
Also at 6:20, confirmation we won't have split-screen since it would be too performance "cost-y" with the 4K.

That reporter asked the most important question last. In the midst of the interview Lee's enthusiasm convinced me to preorder the game on PSN and once I got the confirmation mail I hear the reporter say "I see some tearing still ..."  :#

You know these comments make you sound quite sexist - you are only going for the female avatar for your sexual plasure...
how is that sexist? There's nothing wrong with playing as an avatar of the opposite sex if somebody wants to. That's why a lot of people like playing for example the Tomb Raider  games as Lara Croft because it's fun to sometimes do  something a bit different than the norm. Also it won't be the first time I'll have done it on a sports game as I've done it on tennis games before on the Topspin games as they allow you to play male and female.

FYI, We got career save slots so if you have a roommate or something like that who wants to play a career or if you want to play as a women and a man you can.. :)
