Microsoft hands out refunds for Dirt 4 on base of false advertising.

Recommended Posts

Just got my refund and all needed was to tell chat person what codies told us but didn't deliver.

Yes you can. There is game, Dirt 4 I bought, like many others because developers promised that it's going to be more realistic than game before but sadly it didn't turn out to be true, that sentence were; "If you loved the challenge of DiRT Rally, then you can switch to the Sim Handling mode and have an experience that is even closer to the real deal than we managed to achieve with DiRT Rally." 10.06

Minä But it's not, internet is full of complains about that and it's simply false advertising. They have not updated it at all into direction they promised and now I would have my money taken away from them. 10.07

Back to Dirt Rally it is, please make DLC for it.

It's not false advertising. The game is more realistic in most respects, it's just a small issue with traction that's debatably a bit off. Claiming false advertising is just vindictive nonsense.

After 115 hours this game is by far more realistic. This guy getting his money back for false advertising what a joke honestly. I honest to god dont think people know what they want but ask for more realism well you got it and guess what real is much harder than drift boats that is DR.

Just curious about the Windows Store return process and have a few questions: Was this on Xbox or Windows? Were you aware of and/or did you try to use the new self-service return feature before contacting support? How long did you own the game, and how long did you play it for?

It was xbox. I'm aware about that feature but exceeded limits as I preordered it. Don't know how long I played but it was hours on menu.

Didn't use new feature because wanted to speak to person and tell that that is not "normal" refund as I waited for patch or word that it's going to be fixed and gave up. I guess it doesn't look very nice in system otherwise.

I fully agree dirt4 is not what CM promised. It is not more sim. It has worse tracks as DR. The track generator is no more as version 0.1.

But that doesn't make it a bad game just because I expexted something else. It is as the name says the successor of dirt3 and just no DR2.

It is more sim. It just has some problems, just like DR does.

People seem to be forgetting that they built upon DR's physics for D4. It's all there. Some of it better, some of it worse.

I find Rally better on physics and it's not even fair to compare stages. You can go trough same excact corner 3 times on stage in 4 and as track builder is not bad it were nearly not enough for me. Would be other story if they still had made career tracks on way they used to, now they lack sould and personality.

Is there any rally drivers word about handling? I have negative one about 4 from one but not someone anyone would have heard of I think.

This 100%, it certainly does have its problems but not flying like a piece of paper after hitting a jump or bump is sooooo nice. Being honest about 50 hour's in i was also very upset with things like stage generator and very strange handling or it seemed strange. But now when i go back to DR, Cars feel way easy to drive. Iv come to the conclusion that dirt 4 is probably alot closer to reality than people credit it to be.

It's crap.  Id take fly-away cars that can be driven like a car can, any day of the week.

People complaining about the track generator are expecting a little too much.  It's a great feature.  But those defending the Rally handling are just being naive.

Not defending rally handling i am saying it is no where near as bad as people claim. It needs improvements but is an improvement over DR hands down. Rear grip is a bit much at times i can say that. And cars need a tune which is mistake by CM. Luckily i love tuning

Not defending it at all. Like I said it has problems of its own. I personally prefer the weighty cars it provides over the cardboards in DR. Different strokes for different folks.

The weight is implemented in the wrong way.  The cars aren't heavier (like they should be), but just the same DiRT Rally light cars pressed down by the "aero".

Dirt 4 is a toy game for console-kids with pads.  To use the word 'simulation' is blasphemy & yeah, misleading as in the way the OP has interpreted

& no...  Tuning does not fix it.  Makes it vaguely more believable, but it's still not doing what a real car does...

Man KevM... can't you just leave it be? Just don't play D4 and be done with it. The constant complaining gets annoying.

I think constant defending is more annoying than "constant complaining."

We'll never see improvements & progress if people continue defending shortcomings & trying to silence criticism.

Yes one rally driver that played dirt rally a lot says there is an issue with the dirt 4 handling particularly too much grip and that some cars feel weird.

The defending is coming when people come in and just crap all over the game by making ridiculous comments like calling it a toy game for console kids on pads. That's just pointless bashing and nothing else.

Plus the devs are aware of the problems. Do you think you get your results faster by being loud? Thats what badly raised little kids do.

I have heard that but have not heard that they are going to fix it. "Looking into it" is closest to that but please correct me if I have missed something.
