knightrider1972
I dont see why Dirt 4 has these 2 modes. gamer is a bit easy to play but sim can be annoying why not scrap both and set a bar in the middle im sure this will improve online racing including pro tour and the community events will even out.Its just like playing two games which they never did with the other ones. nbates66
one or the other I would understand... but the middle? Isn't that trying to piss off as many people as possible? :D

tbtstt
CM tried that before: it was called DiRT 3.Sim mode may need some polish, but to remove/amalgamate it in DiRT 4 (and any games that may follow) would be a MASSIVE step backwards in my personal opinion. tilithom
Sim is too easy in rally mode and making it easier would ruin the game. They should have done dirt rally 2 with added stuff instead of that mass market game.

Combining the two game modes serves no purpose whatsoever. Those who want the simplicity of an arcade style thrash can do so in their own world against like minded racers and likewise those who prefer the more complicated side of D4 can do their thing with a different set of drivers. It's a fair system - and one of the few things that Codemasters have got absolutely right with Dirt 4.In a lot of respects Dirt Rally failed because it grouped casual and hardcore gamers together then expected everyone to play within parameters that only suited one party, resulting in an awful lot of people who loved the whole rally thing but felt completely intimidated and overwhelmed by the whole experience to the point where they simply lost interest in the severity of punishment they were required to endure in order to simply 'get average'.. Dirt 4 redresses things by allowing everyone to enjoy the experience within their own comfort zone - and that's what the gaming should be all about.Just for the record, gamer 'fearless' mode (with 100% payout) is a very good compromise for those who want a challenge without swopping to simulation mode. JamesUpton
This is the worst idea I've seen posted here and I hope it is never considered. Sim physics are damn near perfect, there's absolutely zero reason to dumb them down at all, for any reason.
Slowish
Perfect . . . yep, and so is the support for Sim Hardware - LOL. A "Sim" without support for DSD controllers - really? That should be a fundamental feature IMO.
