People complain

Recommended Posts

I know we all want a good f1 game and this game looks great! But the people complaining about such little things, really need to grow up

I disagree emphatically. If you have a concern about the game, then you should voice this concern. A game developer needs all the feedback. the good and the bad. Whether they then act on such complaints is a determination they need to make for themselves, but while it may be appreciated, a developer that only receives praise is a developer that isn't getting anything useful from their playerbase.

Perhaps some things might seem silly to you or me or most others, but people should always feel free to mention what matters to them. You can always press the 'Disagree' button.

Its all relative. Maybe the launch price is nothing for some people and maybe for others its a lot, and so the "little things" can be bigger than you think. Codies can't judge that if people just say "a new game, yay lets buy it again regardless"

So people give their feedback on the forums and Codemasters can decide to use that information or ignore it.

If someone, for instance, feels the cockpit cam is wrong by a few degree's and can't correct that with current options - and then posts here with suggestions or asking why one option was chosen over another - at least that's useful. What has your post really contributed to the advancement of the game?

Everyone's guilty of it sometimes I wouldn't worry. Don't hate the player hate the game.

I think what @mason1516 is trying to say is people make such a big deal about such little things. I'm all for suggestions to codemasters and I won't lie, I myself am one of these people who make a big deal about nothing. I think it's a no-brainer that codemasters will add most of the needed features to their games. It's just that people do sound hysterical when we read what they're typing. I have to agree that it is a pain from time to time but then you have to look at what codies are offering here. Compare F1 2015 to F1 2017 (providing F1 2017 is bug-free).

If I was a codemasters employee I wouldn't touch these forums. 90% of what is written is nonsensical or unrealistic. It really isn't worth their time, especially during late stages of development. I'm sure beta testers will confirm that they've been a lot more responsive and active in the beta forums, wasn't a beta tester so wouldn't know for sure, but I would assume so.

I agree with people complaining since this is what keeps the game moving forward. What I don't agree is the toxic atmosphere where people complain about 1 thing over and over again especially those things that cannot be changed. Pointless and a waste of time. However, constructive complaints are good for the game.

discussing something isnt complaining. This is a forum and thats what forums do.  Complaining about the topics of the threads and comments is complaining. So you seem to be confused about who is doing the complaining here,it's   you. You just did exactly what you are complaining about.

I get annoyed by people who just join the bandwagon and praises everything Codemasters do. They need criticism to improve their game, therefore a bunch of yes-men who just choose to ignore the faults in the game won't help Codemasters improve for future titles. I am staying positive about F1 2017, but I do have my fears.

we are entitle to speak up and voice our opinions regardless of how ridiculous or small something may sound to anyone and unimportant.  as much as we respect their views we want the same in regards back everyone has there own way of seen things if you are happy and satisfied with everything then it your choice. but there are flaws and things that can be improved and addressed that can be added in a patch or future releases.

They don't really. The F1 devs are as enthusiastic a bunch of F1 fans and racing gamers as you'll ever meet, and they want to make the best game they can every year whatever anyone might think.

People who complain more about complainers than they do about game issues need to grow up. We'll never get better games if we don't speak up & change how we buy. You have nothing to lose & everything to gain when games improve from customer feedback, so by trying to silence feedback, you are actively standing in the way of progress & helping to make games worse for everyone.

The funny part is this thread was made only a short time after
Codemasters released a blog centered around discussing how its the little things that makes a good game. I think it was the first of the week.

If I worked at codemasters I would never read the forum prior to release. People on here are complaining about a game they never played before. They don't even know if the game is fun but they already have a lot of complaints on why the game will be no fun.

Stop the bitching until after release because only than we will know if those tiny little details that people are complaining about were worth all the fuzz

Indeed, The listening part is starting soon but for now there needs to be a game released. Reading all the whining about things that can't be addressed anymore for this release is just a big of waste of time when you have so many stuff to take care of to make this a good release. Once the game comes out you can start listening again.

I really wouldn't trust a developer that is constantly checking the forum and posting to the forum on every complaint you see here. If such a developer does spend so much time not working on the game right now you know they have been wasting a lot of time during the rest of the development of F1 2017

That's why developers have community staff that keep an eye on the forums, but also social media and other sources of player feedback, which then gets parsed into usable information, when possible. This doesn't necessarily have to be for the current game, but it still can result in changes in a patch, depending on what sort of issue you're talking about.

I'm thinking about things like the 12-minute qualifying thread. I don't play online, so the issue doesn't matter to me personally at all, but apparently a lot of people feel very strongly about this. Now if CM came to the conclusion that making this change was a good idea, that doesn't necessarily mean they were wrong, it doesn't mean that they're not passionate enough about F1, they might even have considered all the arguments that people bring up there, but it's also very possible that they were considering one aspect (trying to keep it as short as possible for the ever diminishing attention spans..) and might never have realized that a lot of people had a problem with this if those people decided that things couldn't be changed anymore anyway and decided to keep quiet about it.

If a game studio does not utilize feedback from their player base, they're doing it tremendously wrong. It's a matter of parsing it into workable information, and in the end the developers will and should always take the approach they think is best, but you can't consciously decide whether or not certain feedback is useful to you if you're not aware of that feedback.
