Debris & Punctures

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

The game looks great and I'm really looking forward to playing it on the 25th. I have only one question. I saw many gameplay videos but no incidents in which there were debris on the track. I saw that you could get a puncture if you run over them. Is this really in the game?

Yes it is. There is a chance on Simulation damage that you might get a puncture when driving over debris, chance increases with higher speeds.

Yes it is in the game. And from what I found in the beta, it actually depends on the amount aswell. Very rarely would I get a puncture from small amounts, however if it were a whole front wing I would get it 95% of the time.
Sadly, atleast from what we tested there is no way to get a puncture from sidewall to front wing contact.

I think I got a sidewall-grind-puncture once, in Canada Lap 1 - also some PC lag was involved, but I had to do a  full lap with a crazy tyre. :D

I tested it a few times and it didn't work. Idk maybe just luck of the draw lmao.

Simulation damage has tyre rubbing/engine wear/mgu-h wear and some other stuff I forget

I'm also assuming it's like 2016 where simulation is much more sensitive to collisions than full.
