Two problems after watching Ben's video - Engine supplier and Regulations

Recommended Posts

These were found by one of my friends.

First of all, Toro Rosso is using a Ferrari engine according to the game.

Second, it seems that drivers can immediately deploy fifth/sixth power unit without getting through second to fourth power unit, which theoretically means that one can get grid penalties in the first race by straight deploying "fifth/sixth" power unit, which should only be second/third power unit.

I know it sounds confusing...but seems to be two bugs.

The second problem is actually in the preview gameplay, don't know if it is fixed now or if I get the regulations wrong.

The text error with the Toro Rosso has already been corrected and should be in the first update. It was only a text problem, they cars are definitely using Renault engines :)

What about the second question? In Ben's video from 4:27 to 4:32, he apparently goes from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to plus starightaway, which means that players can deploy a fifth power unit in the first race of the season and get grid penalties straightaway. Is this a correct interpretation or am I just a noob xD?

Thanks buddy!

Why would you pick the 5th engine straight away anyway? Guess it means you can tactically take pentalites like people do  in real life with a bit more of an advantage

You can add additional power unit parts to your allocation at any time in real life. You don't need to use all 4 before you add a 5th. Obviously by adding a 5th part you take a penalty.

I've already decided in my Sauber career that i'll add 5th components and take a penalty in Australia as i'll probably be near the back anyway. Will benefit later in the season.

Exactly the driver/player can take extra stuff if they want and when they want in real life as well so that will likely be replicated in the game it just means you'll lend up taking  penalties if and when you do over the allocated amount. It'll be up to the driver/player to decide when and if they want to do that and take the risk.

If you feel you can make each of your parts last 5 race weekends whilst achieving your objectives then you shouldn't have a problem but if not you have the option of adding more at the expense of a grid penalty for the race so if you feel you need to replace parts then my suggestion would be to time it for the tracks where you find it easier to overtake on so the penalty becomes less of a problem
