Game crashes with 1080ti

Recommended Posts

I have the PC version of F1 2017 and I have everything set on the highest detail settings (except the SSRT Shadow whatever turned off) and did a benchmark averaging 139fps in 2560x1440, but it showed my graphics card as nvidia geforce 1080ti (2.9gb) even though it's an 11gb card.  So i thought that was kind of odd.

Anyway so I start my career and do my first practice session.  Then I choose to retire from the session and advance to the next session.  At this point the game goes black and produces the error "The D3D device has been removed (Reason: 0x887A0006).  Try updating your drivers, or changing your graphics/texture settings to lower the video RAM requirements".

A - I have the latest drivers. B - I already benchmarked the GPU where all 11gb of memory was accounted for.  So C - I shouldn't have to lower anything.  I'm not sure what's going on.

The card is an EVGA Geforce GTX 1080Ti FTW3 (11G-P4-6696-KR), Windows 7, 128GB RAM, Intel 6950X

This is at Austraila incidentally.  After retiring from session 1 and upon pressing the key to advance session, the black screen and error occurs with 100% reproducibility.  Here is the GPU-Z screenshot showing video card details: http://imgur.com/a/VXBWV
