pitlane speed limit inconsistency

Recommended Posts

Hello,

The Speed limit at the entry of the pitlane does not match to the pit-limiter (at Baku), I don't know if that's the case for the other circuits..

Might be an idea to change the title to pitlane speed limit inconsistency or something.

It should be 80km/h, so if the car is slowing to 60km/h it is a bug. Monaco is 60km/h, not sure where else.

I can confirm the game sets the pit speed limit to 37mph (60kmh) and the graphic shows 80kmh.

Not sure of the pitlane speed limit in effect there but this was in quali so in theory the sign is correct and the game wrong.

It's 37mph at Monaco (correct) and 37mph at Silverstone too (not sure).

Sporting regs say pitlane speed limit is 60kmh in practice 80kmh in quali & race; unless deemed to be needed slower due to pit layout. This is definitely the case at Monaco but I'm not sure the other two. Anyone know? Tried Googling but no definitive information.

Thanks for pointing out for Monaco.

We can find some information during real Practice / Qualification / Race with the camera onboard, it will take some time..

I had a bug today while playing online.

USA
PS4
14 AI
2 humans
All driving the 1991 McLaren.

It was towards the end of qualy and everyone started diving back out for their last laps. As I came out all the cars were coming out together and this caused a near hold up in the pit lane. At one point my car nearly holted to a stop, and as well as the AI. After a few moments everyone was out and away, but the AI were going 20mph through the pit lane.

Okay guys....is it something I'm doing wrong?
I can work the pit limiter fine when exiting the pit lane, but on entering it, I push my 'Pit Limiter' button on the PS4 pad, and all seems fine as the car slows, and the blue bar fills completely, but as soon as I go over the pit lane entry line, I get a 'speeding in pit lane' warning message.
I am well perplexed. Anyone else having a problem?

You have to be below the speed, pressing the button does not slow the car, it is just supposed to stop you accelerating back over the limit. 37mph on some tracks, 50mph on the others (60kph / 80kph). I hate the fact that once you press the limiter, you can unpress it, but IDK.

Cheers @steviejay69.
There are a few tracks, such as Bahrain for instance, where the pit lane marker itself is right on the pit lane entrance and is hard to engage pit limiter when you are turning in from the track.

Those sporting regulations have already been changed. It's now 80 for the whole weekend.
Found the official FIA preview of the 2017 race and 80 kph should be the correct one. So the sign is correct. About Sochi, used to be 80 but FIA changed it to 60. So there the sign is incorrect.

As 8 was reading the FIA preview of Baku, I noticed something. The 2nd DRS zone has it own detection point as in the game there is only 1 for 2 zones. I will make a separate topic for that.

Weren't there a few wrongly labelled pit speeds in previous years? Must be hard to keep track of 20 odd pit speeds from year to year. Look how long it took the community to get the answer and they only have 8 or 9 months...

There's probably one of two each year that change after the cutoff for the release and by then all the other issue take priority. If they put the wrong speeds in at least have the boards showing the speed limit the game is using
