Fuel on controller

Recommended Posts

First race I noticed the fuel caution light after 7 laps. I was 2 laps in the red already. I had to switch to lean 10 laps to get back in 1 lap in the green. I switched to standard and it stabilized.

I gave up 2 positions running on lean.
The best I could get in fuel practice was acceptable, and I was running so conservative I could barely make the delta lap time.

Controller or my driving. I'm running Haas on medium difficulty.

You can improve fuel efficiency through upgrades. It's not necessary all due to your driving. F1 2017 has more realistic fuel management than F1 2016 did.

I'm not complaining at all. I enjoy the RD aspect. I never gave fuel upgrade a thought. 2016 was way too generous on fuel. Once again, I jumped into career instead of running single race to get used to the game.
Just another controller quirk to live with.

I found that too when I got to China GP's race, and thought this is not right. I restarted the session and when I went into Strategy Option I saw the fuel was not showing a full tank, so needed to edit it accordingly.

I added quite a bit of fuel at race strategy. Default loaded less fuel than the calculated number of laps which meant I'd be forced to use lean and do a lot of coasting. I'd rather go heavy and have rich mix at my disposal.
