Graphics on standard PlayStation 4

Recommended Posts

Hi, Is anyone noticing the poor graphics on the standard PlayStation 4, much like F1 2016. The graphics look fine until the car begins to move then it becomes extremely grainy. The frame rate looks very low. I have turned off camera shake, camera movement, and even lowered the sharpness on my TV. Even though the game play in F1 2016 & 2017 is great, I thought that the graphics were smoother and ultimately a lot better on F1 2015. One of the main problems of the last two installments has been Codemaster's attempts to recreate real-life tarmac. The tarmac looks really bad, in terms of graphics. I have never known Codemaster for their graphics (the graphics on F1 2010-2013 were quite poor compared to other racing games on the PlayStation 3) but F1 2015 was decent. I know people prefer game play over graphics but, in 2017, we should be able to have both. The game is almost unplayable the graphics are so bad. I play other games on the same console and the graphics are very sharp.

No, I was very surprised with the graphics tbh. I like wha they have done with the track surface, very realistic

Strange, I also play on a Xbox One, but the track/tarmac looks really poor to me. Grainy, not sharp at all and a lot worse than F1 2016!

I very much agree with you, graphics are light greyish. When driving I look at track and see textures moving. Rolex and Pirelli sponsor boards are vague. Maybe buying other version of the game hope I Will be lucky with better graphics. F1 2016 graphics were even better at normal PS4

gameplay is great by the way

I do like what they've tried to do with the tarmac, in terms of realism, but it looks so bad when the car is moving. I also play Dirt Rally (2015) and even that looks better than F1 2017. I just disappointed because the standard PS4 is capable of producing good graphics. Just wait until Gran Turismo, which I won't be buying this time around, comes out. The graphics are gonna be mind-blowing. The graphics on the last GT game on PS3 were as good as the graphics on F1 2017. It's shame though because the game would be unreal if the graphics were good. I'd say it looks class on PC.

Agree, this needs to be sorted out with the next few patches

Graphics can't be improved through the introduction of update patches, can they? If they can, they didn't bother to do it on F1 2016.

if framedrops, screen tearing are not solved, F1 2017 will be my last F1 game. 60 euros for severe glitches and bugs is too much!!
