Any way to fix awful anti-aliasing and draw distance/texture streaming? (PC)

Recommended Posts

Despite having every setting cranked to the highest, the anti-aliasing is just simply awful in this game and barely fixes any of the white jaggies and in fact is worse than F1 2016 is now there is horrible shimmering jaggies along the curbs and white lines of the track limits. Also, tracks like Montreal look horribly ugly due to the fact textures/shadows that are outside of a 50m radius are seriously blurry and low res. Is there any way to improve this in the config files?

Running the game 2560x1080 ultrawide with every setting on its highest. Unfortunately the low draw distance is severely ruining my enjoyment of the game and destroys the graphical potential of this game.

Here's what mine looks like https://imgur.com/a/H5Jsk

- Turn off Depth of Field in hardware_settings_config in Documents
- Use TAA
- Use SweetFX to get that sharpening, mixes well with TAA, my profile is here https://www.sendspace.com/file/mkfc8e Run the exe and point it to f12017 exe, toggle on and off using INSERT

Why would you use the FXXA through this should they do codemasters like it was in F1 2016 SMAA + TAA

Unless I'm being really blind/stupid, I can't find any F1 2017 or Codemasters folder in My Documents, also tried looking in the install path on my SSD. Never used SweetFX but I have used ReShade for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, I'm guessing it's the same thing? I'm already using TSA, checkerboarding just made the game a blurry mess.

Edit: Nevermind, found the folder, was inside the My Games folder.

Hello @shaunhutchie I'd be interested to see a screenshot or video of your issue please.
Not sure how well I could get a video up for you but I'll definitely try post some screenshots. I've been able to improve the situation with the AA by injecting SMAA and some sharpening using ReShade to negate the TSA blurring, but its still not perfect, would there be anyway to inject MSAA via Nvidia Inspector?. Also disabling Depth of Field in the config file helped with the poor textures that are in the distance although it would be nice to have some sort of depth of field back, unfortunately its just poorly implemented in this title
