Things You'd like to see in F1 2018 career mode and other areas as well

Recommended Posts

I like career mode in F1 2017 and the Invitational events are a decent way to break the monotony of the race to race grind and worrying about the development of your car. Seeing as the game is very career centric (IMO at least) if you play single player. I was thinking of things that could enhance the experience further. As it stands career mode is good, but still just drive, develop, drive develop, repeat.

First I'm going to put out there that I would love a better helmet editor maybe one where you could import your own designs.

Now on to things I believe would enhance career mode even more.

- An actual "silly season" where drivers from teams can possibly move to other teams and spots open up on teams instead of your career character just taking a spot on a team and then if/when you g to another team the driver who's spot you took just gets their ride back.

- Better character control between races and interactions with agents and team, maybe team principals as well. Things like having a response/request system for the interactions. Helps create a more in depth career experience.

-Maybe term based contracts(the here's a possibility to change teams every 10 races if you are performing well is quite unrealistic. This can also play into the interactions idea as well because you could be having a tough year and want to move on from your contract and you can request a release or transfer.

-Media availability sessions/press conferences/interviews Something else to help flesh out the feeling of controlling a person's career

-Sponsorship goals for added resource points.

-A fan reputation system/reputation system that doesn't just take into account your on track performance(success), but also your driving style(ie. if you are aggressive other drivers/ teams may not respect you or they may respect you more same with fans.

-Maybe an option to create/manage a team kind of like GM Mode in other sports games(still let users drive races, but can control either member of the team(no switching between them during races though. I hated that in older NASCAR games)

That's all I can think of. What do you guys here think? What would you like to see integrated into future F1 games?

Something I'd like to see, personally, is a more progressive career. Like starting off in Formula Three or something, racing a few races, then getting signed as a reserve driver for a F1 team, depending on how well you do, then you start driving the car mid-season, then you get to sign a contract at the end of the season. That, along with some of the things that HIPPOSurf91 mentioned, and I think the career mode would be perfect.

I have used numbers alongside to explain my view. Personally, we all know that 1 wont happen, licensing wont allow it. The rest, I fairly well agree with, would like to see the media back, which can boost or drop your reputation with teams

Put reserve drivers into the game.  I still don't know why CM haven't done this as yet.  If a driver performs poorly, then the reserve driver gets that seat.

It's only a matter of negotiation though. I mean, in FIFA and Football Manager games you can get Messi in a Real Madrid shirt and whatnot, if they allow it, there's no reason FIA/Liberty/whoever manages these rights can't be persuaded.

Id like to see them add mod support for consoles been playing farming sim 2017 after spending the last 4 years playing only the f1 games on xbox  and u can down load mods what the community make send them in to the developer for testing then they put them up on xbox store I think this is something codemasters should do then when the new season starts we could get the official driver changes and so on in stead of having to play an out dated game every year the modders could all so help with bugs and so forth its an win win situation all round to me

I'd like an option (that should be able to be turned on and off) for the user to have mechanical failures randomly like the AI do instead of having to reach 90% or so with a PU componenet we could get a random failure at 20%. Another thing I would like is a custom podium celebration like Hamilton throws up his trophy in the air. Maybe 5 or so preset animations for the user to choose from. And finally I would the option to choose realistic TV cameras like the Merc and Redbull shoulder cam and the Haas front wing camera. These are just a few things I believe would increase my personal enjoyment of the game.

How long have you noobs been here. The guy that mentioned the F3 working your way up isnt going to happen. One because of the licencse . Two the extra time to implement those teams and drivers(face scans)and thirdly it takes away from the main game. You idiots keep spouting the same crap every year. This ain't EA for one codemasters are a smaller company . Licensing cost money. Games are still be released half finished and with all the problems this game has had you lot still want these fifa improvements on top. Lool you lot shoud really give up its getting pathetic
