"Pumping graphics" on Singapore

Recommended Posts

I have a problem on Singapore. When running Time Trial everything works fine, and the graphics and the car movement is smooth and fine. But when I started a 3 lap race with one shot quali I got some kind of "pumping graphics" lag. Has anyone else seen that?

I don't know really how to describe it better, but it feels like the car enteres an area of glue and breaks by its own like once in a second or two. Sound is not affected at all. It seems to get worse in high speed corners, and weakens a bit on the straits. It is totally unplayable. One of my friends have it too. I have an i7 and a NVidia 1060.

I am on a PS4 Pro and Singapore seems to push the Pro pretty hard, maybe it's track specific graphic's issue...

Now I've tried different graphics settings, and different tracks, and my conclusion is that the graphics is not the problem. The "pumping" feeling still remains, and my guess now is that is has something to do with CPU and the AI of the orher cars. Hasn't really anyone else experienced this but me and my friend?

I'm running an AMD FX8350 with an AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB) in my machine and have absolutely zero graphics issues and have never had any (even before any patches came along).

You're not alone with this - loads of people reporting graphics lag issues. My game runs as smooth as silk.
I'm mainly posting just to share my own specs and to state that, with my rig, I've not had a single problem.

I even just ran a Singapore race as a test. No issues.

Ok, thanks! I have not read anything about this issue, but maybe I have not tried as hard to find it as I should. But I guess in that case it will be addressed in a future patch, so I guess I will need to stick with F1 2016 until then. Too bad...

Not that I know anything about PC but there are a few driver updates that have been causing havoc with different games. Check Tech Assistance forums there were some guys solving issues with graphics.

Thanks, but it's not the graphics, it's the game as a whole. A benchmark test I did showed min FPS=64 and max FPS 125, but still my car (and all surroundings) was "pumping" forward in a way I could not handle the car properly.

Edit:
And btw, time trial is suddenly behaving the same way. Ok, I'm just confused. But all other games I have work as usual (including other Codemaster games like Dirt Rally).

Yes, I have an update! After a full evening of trying *everything* (including disabling cpu multi-threading, reinstalling game, testing with and without vertical sync, running on one or triple monitors etc.), I finally had a breakthrough! It suddenly worked (except for replays) to let the NVidia application use "Optimal" graphics settings and start the game.

So it is one graphics setting that is messing things up. I'll tell you when I find it.
