CM destroying multiplayer community

Recommended Posts

Codemasters, could you please tell me when you'll be fixing the following issues in the multiplayer mode?

1. Retired Cars did not disappear from track. Causing   yellow flags.
2. Car has different tires at once (Supersoft and Soft)
3. Force Feedback got lost, when a player left or joined the lobby
4. Fuel selection did not work. Shifting between "lean" and "rich" made no difference. (causes no fuel or to much fuel in the end of the race)
5. Retired cars blocking the pitlane.
6. Yellow flag zones didn´t disappear.
7. Cars ghosting lately or not at all when re- entering the track.
8. Players still in the lobby while others are loading up into the race.
9. A LOT of desync and lag.
10. Ghosting cars (people who left the session) causing penalties.
11. Damaged wings don't get replaced.

After playing f1 2016 untill the last day with my league, I was really looking forward to this game. And so was the rest of the league. Although f1 2016 had many issues, we had a blast and we were hoping things will improve on f1 2017. All I can say is, what a let down codemasters. Not because of the new features. They are great and this game has great potential. But it's just Impossible to do a multiplayer race. We're 2 weeks into the new game and nothing has been done. Codemasters your most loyal customers are in online racing. Those are the people who play in leagues and organize YouTube streams and things like that. They are the best advertisement codies could wish for. They are the people who won't stop playing the game after 2 weeks when they are finished with career mode. Why are you letting all these people down? Please fix it, or these people will turn into career mode players and will abandon the game. And once they are gone, it'll be hard to get them back. Those YouTube vloggers who only promote their own career mode videos aren't interested in multiplayer. Why are these the people who get to do the beta testing? I understand now why there wasn't any mention of multiplayer before the release. Please respond.

Beta testing was open to anyone who applied, not youtubers or vloggers.

The response during MP beta testing was poor, because CM restricted the TYPE of lobby we could utilise. That combined with the small pool of testers AND notwithstanding the 'patience and attention span of a goldfish' attitude of the participants, especially seeing as beta MP was bugged with the SAME issues (lobbies not finishing, players being DSC/DSQ) meant that MP testing was not a great success. Increasing the number of participants later in the day when it was obvious the testing was not happening was a reactive move that still did not get results.

I logged many hours on the beta and some evenings (probably 2x 2hours) were spent with an open lobby waiting for players to join, only to see one join then leave immediately seeing only one other player (me) in there.

All this for the joy of 5 lap sprints on 4 tracks.

It seems codemasters does't give a shit about multiplayer and the issues people reporting. They don't respond at all.

@jennyannem Could you please respond.

Yes you're right about the beta testing. But I just feel like these 'poster boys' with their YouTube channels and minor career mode issues, are deemed more important by cm then an entire multiplayer community. They get special treatment and things like that.

I don't think they do. They do get the beta access and the review copies but that isn't a guarantee of a good review. I would say CM have devised a good game and focused on the correct aspects but they've been badly let down by the grunts who've done the coding and data management. So QA has failed badly.

Maybe if FOM and Liberty get a whiff of this customer dissatisfaction then that might have a wider effect?

You've more or less copied another thread here with a title that's clearly designed to provoke a reaction.
