There are many settings for FFB in the same part you tune cars. Can make a huge difference to the feel of each car, don't ask me what they all do though :joy: There is a small description of what they do, But I mainly just guessed what they did, and did get some good results. Haven't tweaked them in the release version as I haven't felt the need, but they might help your wheel.

loudrocker
Pcars is probably one of the best games to date for me. I hesitate to really call anything a sim that get released on a console, but I mean I did iRacing for years and the physics feel pretty darn good and the tuning is on par. It lacks the penalty and rank system of iRacing, but it's not meant to be iRacing either. It does allow penalties in the races just not the same strictness as iRacing. Liaveil
Honestly, it's a bit underwhelming. It's an excellent game and the career mode looks like what every racing game should have but I don't know, I don't find it as good as a lot of people are saying and for me it's down to one thing: The AI is horrific. Everything else is fantastic, but it is let down by the AI which is why I cannot stress enough that AI should always be one of the key focuses before anything else. Hopefully patches will sort it out but at the moment I honestly prefer Forza 5 over it and the AI is bad enough in that.
RevolvingPrawn
The AI really do need some work. I got some good advice from @Hughesy on how to deal with them though, treat every car as if Maldonado is driving it and you'll be fine :p Worked for me lol. Hughesy
Yea like I've been saying for months, the ai is the weakest point. You guys should thank your lucky stars you didn't play against the ai months and years back, you'd think the current ai is the best ever now :joy: It's not really just the ai though, it's the collision detection, we've had a lot of problems with that, but it has got better. I still prefer crazy ai over what F1 has had, as they didn't fight you at all. For hot lapping and online this game is great. Career is lame as the ai scale, so selecting 100% in the lower formulas isn't actually 100%. We had a long winded response as to why, but many of us pleaded for an option to disable it, but they didn't listen (yea community game) lol

Platy
Just done my first race in the Clio Cup. The AI isn't very good, as in they don't seem to drive like a person would. They seem to have a fast-in, slow-out approach to corners; unless things are different higher up. The game also suffers from the simulation bug that the F1 games has, AI makes up random lap times during qualifying if you skip to the end. Its fun though, hopefully they work hard on the AI because it takes a lot of fun out of the game. Also not being in control in the pits? Pretty lame. Weather looks nice though. Hughesy
To that last point Platy, they couldn't let us control it in the end as people could crash into the pit crew, which would've meant reclassification. Maybe it'll change, as we did have control at one point. There was a key to override it before release, but I don't think it works now.

Loved how close it was across the line, 0.030.Though this doesn't happen often, seems like certain track and car combinations give you better AI racing than others do.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHEG4UH6LJw

I haven't played the game today but that's what I've felt about the game so far based on the practice races and first season that I have done. I have enjoyed it and intend on doing more but so far it's been great fun. I've not found too many bugs in it other than sometimes on the replays where al the cars don't take off the same time as you and stay on the grid. So far though that's the only real annoying bug I've found. This only happens sometimes though

Think there's a bug though on tyre wear, the only cars that have it right now are the Formula A cars and tyre wear just doesn't happen on other cars, yet it still happens for the AI. There was a patch today though so that might have been sorted.

Syn
Alright, so after almost an hour and a half of CONTROLLER settings tweaking this morning on this POS game, I think I finally found the right combination to at least make this game playable. Considering my hype for this game and my extreme disappointment since picking it up Tuesday, let me say, this is a PRIME example of why we need demos, now more than ever.Steering Deadzone : 10Steering Sensitivity : 10Throttle Deadzone : 10Throttle Sensitivity : 30Brake Deadzone : 10Brake Sensitivity : 30Clutch Deadzone : 10Clutch Sensitivity : 45Speed Sensitivity : 65Controller Filtering Sensitivity : 45Force Feedback : 95Controller Input Mode : 3Advanced : OFFThis was all tested with real racing assists enabled on a Clio Cup. It's still a bit squirrel-y under braking, but I find enabling the soft steering makes the cars feel like a brick.Ended up RETURNING this yesterday when I found out EBGames (Canada) allows Platinum members to swap a brand new game once. I put it towards Witcher 3. Will use DIRT 3, Wreckfest, and perhaps DriveClub PS+ edition if it ever comes out while I patiently wait for GT7 to release. SamuelTrautman
and here was me thinking fifers lacked a sense of humour :-)got it this afternoon, played it 4hours straight before dinner and another 4 hours after. The go karts are fun and funnily enough harder to drive than an F1 car in codies games. The nordshleife is epic and im already down to 5mins 35secs using the Formula A car just need to tweak the setup and do more and more laps and i'll be challenging the top 10 on leaderboards. There is so much in this game im really looking forward to delving more and more into it and the amount of options you can choose is just crazy. Done 1 race around spa on multiplayer but as usual on a public lobby 1 guy thought it would be fun to keep ramming me and breaking my rear wing everytime I tried to do a qualli lap and the race start ended in carnage, reminded me of the of 1998 :-(all in all I was very impressed. This attitude is why I don't race with randoms.Just because you had the inside line doesn't mean he has to back out and give you the position. You went into the grass and then came back across into him. You left him no room going into the right hander regardless of who's fault the initial contact was.Really though it was a racing incident at most. Happens all the time in racing. Btw when you leave the track, the AIs awareness of you drops off a cliff. On the flip side I can see where you're coming from, but calling it cheating is a bit excessive. Poor form by the AI at worst.
Platy
The AIs awareness is pretty awful to start with so its not a big drop. The problem is the AI drives the same way whether there's a car near them or not. If that was an overtake on a real person then they would have backed out and attacked later in the lap, but with the AI they brake at the same point and try to the take the same line which isn't possible. Then they take ridiculous speed through the slow corners, even if they're not on the track, and seem to be unaffected from being off-track and having to turn sharply to get back on track. The AI need a lot of work, they're no better than the AI in Grid or F1 or any other racing game out there.Honestly, as fun as this game is, it still feels unfinished; plus there's some big bugs/issues still in there (weather not effecting AI on console for example). Hope they work hard on it and don't drop it after a few months to make the next game.
Hughesy
@DarkRedslayer And yet @RevolvingPrawn is the cleanest racers I know... RevolvingPrawn
I think you'd find I'm one of the cleanest racers out there if you were to race me, I'll give you a good fight but I'll do everything I can to avoid contact with another racer. And if I did hit you I'd glad stop and let you back past in the interest of fairness. You're welcome to ask any of the guys who I league race with about my standards, and I'd think the fact that they made me a steward shows that I'm not a dirty racer. @Hughesy could back me up on this seeing as he and I have raced each other a bunch of times. And no room on the right hander? There was plenty going in, but when the AI is on the grass and there isn't a car on circuit next to me then why shouldn't I use the whole width of the circuit? The fact remains, going into the corner my rear wheels were ahead of his front wheels, putting the responsibility of avoiding contact on him as the car behind. What you seem to be missing though is I'm not saying the AI ramming techniques are cheating, I actually kinda like it because it's what I'd expect racing randomers. What I'm calling cheating is the fact that the sausage curb had no real effect on his grip or traction, yet had that been my car bumping over that thing, the physics of the game would have screwed me. Just seems unfair that the AI can get away with things that a player can't.
