Do you have to restart carreer mode (PS4) for patch changes too take effect?

Recommended Posts

I'm 4 races into carreer. I'm driving for Toro Rosso and I was wondering, especially with patch 1.6 coming too PS4 one of these days, do I have to start a new carreer for all the patched issues to take full effect?

Can anyone please confirm?

Looks like. Qualify simulated laps still very tough here. I like the way it is, but looks like the problem still around or on old saved games.

No, you don't.

I have all the engine upgrades but 2. They kicked in with the update and perfomance in straight line was much improved.

Im just about to start my 4th  but my gearbox wear is shocking (52% after only 100 laps). Think ill wait for 1.6 then restart my career for the hell of it,, in the Renault now may restart with a torro.

You drive for McLaren? I get that the engine upgrades kicks in, but I was more concerned about the simulated laptimes etc.

Still nou really got the answer I was looking for though...

Wasn't the gearbox issue adressed in an earlier patch? Did you upgrade R&D for your gearbox? Should be the fix if I'm correct.

Could it be subjective to the circuit you are driving or the AI level? Not saying you're not good enough but just sorting out all possibilities.

@Donone84 yeah i restarted my career after 1.5 so no idea why the wear was still so horrible. ill be waiting until 1.6 now then ill restart again,,, im happy just doing the TT's and classic events until i see that everything is sorted and its worth restarting

Yes, McLaren.

Actually, there were so many topics about the McLaren upgrades that misread this one.

I don't think that since the pace in the same difficulty is enough to beat all the teams that are my rivals on the race. Not only that, but I constantly have the best lap if I compare only to my rivals (me as a Haas driver compared to Renault, Toro, Williams and Force Indie).

But like I say, it's really tough, but doable. At Melbourne I could win Romain with 0.4s gap. On China and Bahrein, circuits that I hate, i've been beated by 0,2s and 0,5s. Nothing big.

How did you change your gear: Too fast? Because if I changed it very fast, I can see a abnormal damage on my gearbox. On races I try to change very slowler, mainly at the begin.

I restarted my career after the patch.   First time I ran with Ferrari, but decided to go with Williams this time.
My gearbox still did not last 6 races, in spite of applying resource points to gearbox durability from the start.
It didn't wear as fast as the first attempt at a career, and I do think I might be able to finish the season using only the 4 allocated.
I'm also pretty confident that if I used a manual gearbox instead of automatic, the gearbox could last longer...  with automatic gear changes there is nothing you can do since the shifting always occurs at same RPM.
It's too bad there is no way to set the RPM at which shifting occurs or the shifttone sounds.
