"A Quote from Lee Mather"

Recommended Posts

Re the OP, someone would have to be extremely wet behind the ears not to understand that this is the way the world works. Without this strategy, Codies and its serious competitors wouldn't exist, then you'd have no F1 game to complain about... And as for the cynicism that "poor quality is profitable", nope, history shows that this is not a long term or sustainable strategy in general. But it doesn't apply here. If anyone genuinely thinks that $40 for this game is not good value or that it lacks "quality" (comparably to other products) they're living in a fantasy world.

People are buying the game because they like what codemasters serves them. Happy customer here and  because I like F1 2017 so much my pre-order for F1 2018 is certain.
As the saying goes ignorance is bliss.
This kind of comment grinds my gears. The implication that we're too stupid to notice faults in the game is to me like listening to a priest trying to convince an atheist of the presence of God.

I have followed, participated, spectated, worked and played games related to motorsport for more than 20 years. With the caveat that I don't play online, it is unequivocally NOT ignorance to say that I am more than happy with the game, which has its faults. I'll repeat that operative word; "game".

LOL! So you can say people are "extremely wet behind the ears" and "living in a fantasy world," but you get triggered if someone else says "ignorance is bliss??"

We do have a choice. We have so many race sims on the market today. PC2 and GTS to name two more.

I personally will explore my options and wait for patches. Next year’s CM game will live or die by how well I’m treated this year.

Exactly, we have a choice. Buying F1 2017 is a choice and if you decide to buy the game based on what you know from here or elsewere I presume that you accept the fact that there are bugs that need to be fixed. I'm always amazed by the number of "new" customers here on the forum that start raging about the game and demanding refunds. After buying they seem to find the way to this forum. Before you never see or hear them. Doing some research before buying pays off and gives you input to decide to buy or not.

The above however doesn't imply that devs are free to release a buggy game, an idea some of you have, just because it fills their wallet. I don't subscribe that opinion just because I believe in the case of Codemasters that this is not a fact. To me it seems more like a deadline issue that needs to be met and bugs are accepted by those involved. Not a good thing, but a calculated risk. And regarding the response we get here on the bugs I believe it is widely accepted or buyers don't care anymore. Forcing devs to produce bug free games by not buying their products will never happen.

Blah, what a bummer. I would have love to see Coffer cof up this solution :'( But like you say, maxing out everything will get the meter running.

Still he's not fully right. The link shows a pc setup for $350. A new Xbox One 's costs €240. So I would like to see a pc setup as powerfull as a Xbox One S for €240.
