Also from portugal (Azores) :D
I agree with everything! i would love to see the Fafe rally sprint stage...
Sure want the Fov ajustment (Really important), more realism guys, starting from handling of course, and tighter longer stages, and so on... oh and about the stages, like André said, don't just make a stage and slice it in half and say: "here are 3 stages for you"... -.-'
I know most of the things are almost impossible  to integrate in the game, but at least a  career like André discribed could be done Codmasters ;)
Cheers mates!

I believe that Windows Games Live is already dead.

Portugal in the house (I'm from Coimbra)! ;)
Also against slicing stages in 2 ou more parts! If you want to use the same stage, make it reverse also. And that's about it!
Richard Burns Rally is the only "real" rally game that I still play today and it's been almost 9 years since it was out.

I've been waiting for this question for a long-long time.

i would love a feature that was "random events"
a rock punches a hole in the rad = overheat
a rock punctures the oil pan = overheat
tyre blow out
Hood flips up
boil brakes
fender rub

basically, any number of things that could happen tat would in real life.  the thing is, with it turned on, you may never experience any of these but it could at anytime.

Welcome! Well 100% of the list is from the community, not from me!  ;)

Include:
Take the multiplayer tags game from Dirt 3 but create a football style game.  Have a gigantic football which you have to crash into to try and get it into the other teams goal.  Playing fields could be flat, or built-up with obsticles, tunnels etc.  Could be a lot of fun.
Support Oculus Rift & 4K monitors.

Remove:
All the condescending voice-overs before a new stage, or at least allow us to turn it off.
Don't ever use Games for Windows logins ever again.

Anyhow, for me, the fact that you can close your eyes and get some sort of emotion out of the experience, says that sounds defiantly are a large and underrated part of the over all game.
@gfRally - You have no idea how we swoon over your words sometimes Greg.

They can't call it 'Colin McRae' anything. Colin's wife asked them to stop using his name after he died.
I don't believe that is entirely correct: DiRT 2 came out two years after McRae died and that had Colin's name on it.
Pretty sure it is true Paul said on twitter after DiRT 2 that they were not aloud to use the Colin McRae name anymore @KickUp

Also have some canadian rallys and maybe add dakar.
i was also thinking adding the dodge dart and the for rally cross
and different ways to customize your cars

more of a simulated crashes..
Authentic rally events like WRC.

Real xgames rallycross events would be awesome.
and maybe a simulated gopro camera angle feel.

Yes! More Ford Escorts, and a Hillman Avenger :) There has never been one of those in any racing game so you would be breaking new ground.

But seriously, more 70's RWD Rally cars.

I hope to see physics more like DiRT 2 and the car list from DiRT 3. I also hope its the best looking next gen game because DiRT 3 looked like the best previous gen game.
trailblazer, rally, and rallycross should be the main focus, Gymkhana should be in a challenge series not the main game, Better damage (if possible), Xbox 360 and ps3 versions, and customization.

It is very simple...Go back to your roots. The ones that put you not only at the top of racing games, but deeply in our hearts. I do believe you should focus in simulation rather than gymkhana and all the circus thing...ERC rights are the key. That championship is the perfect opportunity to create off and online game modes...If you want to provide selection then rallycross and off road tournaments are sufficient...You master how to let us (devoted gamers) experience a real driving simulation experience so Next-Gen can be a restart...Best wishes and please discriminate pure rally experience from tricks or drifting in first or third gear...

My List

- Build/optimise for Next gen and PC primarily.
- More simulation options: limited tyres, service only available after a few stages, tyre changes in the rally track, terminally damaged cars stay on the side of the track with debri left on the stage
- Better damage model
- More realistic sound
- Better cockpit cam
- New replay editor
- More rally stages
- No repeated stage sections
- Longer and more varied/unique stages to drive
- TV style replay
- Field of view adjustment
- Rally championship, rally-only career
- Playground/driving training space
- Recce the stages
- Service park
- Realistic start
- Dynamic weather system
- Better pacenote choices
- Authentic rally rules
- Changing stage conditions
- Enviroment sounds
- Livery editor for cars
- Night stages
- Simple track maker
- Moddable Game with sharing options for all platforms
- Telemetry and motion support
- No talking person in menus
- Remove trailblazer and give hillclimbs back.
- Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Goodwood, and other good hillclimb tracks
- More classic rally cars (like Talbot Sunbeam, Fiat 131 Abarth, Chevette, Stratos, etc)
- All cars from DiRT 3
- Real hillclimb cars, not these fictional concept muscle cars.
- More S2000 cars
- Cars with different drivetrains (front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, four wheel drive)
- Kit cars from 90's
- Old WRC Cars
- S1600 cars
- All of Group B
- Prototype rally cars as rewards
- Don't show trailers before launch with paid DLC cars in it without specifically stating which ones are DLC, that was extremely dishonest with Dirt 3.
- Gametype where a person plays as the co-driver and watches the track while reading pacenotes, could be interesting.
- Splitscreen and system link support.

@couger1981 ,@justbiglee @KickUp Its so annoying,...>-) :| Would love to know if they use or feedback, or ideas ( for example the WRC ultimate rallyteam idea )    :\">

I am giving feedback from December 2011 for the new game, and all i get as answer is:
"We can't say anything yet,... we would love to show what we are doing...."

Atleast i do know for sure that they listen to our feedback, small example is the other rallycars at the stage in D3, what we asked for after D2, and the Monte Carlo DLC... those where amazing!

But a confirmation would be nice..... :D

DiRT2 featured the Colin McRae tribute video but was only called DiRT 2 in the USA (it was Colin McRae: DiRT 2 in other territories).

We agreed with the family that we would not continue to use the name for DiRT3. We did however include a number of the cars he drove and offered his legendary Mark 2 Escort as a DLC pack with some of the proceeds going to the Colin McRae Vision charity.

Since then we have released Colin McRae Rally for the iPhone and Android and that involved making an agreement with Colin's family.

Colin is still an inspiration to us all. His raw talent, speed and his total commitment to living life to the fullest are key elements in our design ethos for DiRT.

Whatever the next game is called, I believe that if Colin was still with us today, he would be as excited as we are about it.

I can confirm that I am reading this thread, twitter, comments in other forums and articles that mention DiRT.

The majority of your wishes and ideas align very well with the game I want to make for you all. Of course budget constraints, licensing, time and resource will mean that we can only do so much but I think it is fair to say that you will thoroughly enjoy what we make.

Please remember that I came to work at Codemasters because I loved playing Colin McRae 1, 2 & 3 as a fan. I have spent my entire career working on Rally games.

I want to create the best rally game ever made and I don't feel that I have achieved that yet. Getting the chance to compete as a codriver has opened my eyes to aspects of the sport that I took for granted before. Getting @jontucker to join the studio has given us amazing insight into the vehicle dynamics and handling and I am confident we are on the right track.

Keep your ideas and wishes coming. We are listening!  ;)

Thanks for your comment Paul! Really appreciate it!
And don't worry we will keep the wishes and ideas rolling ;-)
The fact that the forum is back online is a good step in the right direction! :D

Thanks for posting Paul.

Based on the hints, early interviews and your posts I'm sure the next rally game will more than satisfy DiRT and rally fans.

Fan wishlists can be very long and ask for features, which would be expensive and too time consuming with limited resources. As long as the core of the game:
- car handling and physics
- realistic stages (width, surfaces, locations) and their variety
- variety of authentic cars
- big focus on rally and rallycross content

are great the game will be fantastic and will make lots of people happy.

Good times ahead :)
