Reputation and contract

Recommended Posts

Hi, can somebody explain how reputation and contract work?
I mean:
in my first season i was in Haas and then i accepted to join Force India.
I would want to join Ferrari but i don't know how do it.
I defeated Raikkonen 3 times (finished Cina's race) and my reputation with Ferrari isn't increased very much.
Another problem is when you see the teams that are more interested in you but when appears the contract event, there are different teams.
Thanks to all and sorry if i'm not clear with my questions(english isn't my native language).

In my experience the quickest way to increase your reputation with a team (and chance of getting a contract) is by beating BOTH of their drivers. So as in real life, getting a Ferrari drive isn't easy... Keep doing your best with Force India and either develop it a lot or switch to Red Bull/Mercedes (if you get the chance) to give yourself the best chance of beating them and getting a contract offer.

Don't know how I managed it but at the end of my first season with McLaren I got offered a drive at all 3 of the top teams. I finished 10th in the championship, my best finish was a lucky 3rd place in Abu Dhabi because about 15 drivers had grid penalties. The only rivalry I won all season was against my team mate. I guess I just out performed the car and that attracted the top teams? This was on 101 difficulty.

Similar for me in McLaren, got offers from top 3 teams. 100 difficulty. Finished 7th with some good safety car luck

Completing team objectives, beating your team mate, beating your rival and finishing higher than 1 or 2 drivers from a better team in qualifying and races will 100% surely boost your reputation

I though that if you have the same engine, you have more probabilities to receive contracts from the teams who mounts the same engine:)

Exactly.
I done all these things but i had more probability to go to Mercedes than Ferrari.
I can switch to Red Bull but i'm not sure if i will can go to another tier 1 team in future

Yes, but i don't know how to manage to have a greater reputation with a team than another.
Maybe there is something scripted?

If you drive in a Renault and you finish a race higher than 1 of the 2 Mercedes drivers, but lower than both Ferrari drivers, then your reputation at Mercedes will grow a lot more than at Ferrari. That is the only difference between why some teams want you more than other. You simply beat their drivers
