Practise sessions tedious?

Recommended Posts

I do think the tire life test is poorly implemented. You somehow save tires my accelerating while turning slightly. Or while braking and turning slightly.

Its dumb, while coasting through a turn while.t rurning slighty somehow wears your tires more.

I think the practise sessions would be better if they actually contributed in some way to the setup of the car. real drivers drive around doing R&D sessions in FP1 and FP2, but they also work with their engineers on refining the cars setup for the weekend.

The best improvement would have to be tests like that and the tyre wear one only requiring one lap
If you get purple on the first lap there is no need to complete the rest of the laps. Tyre Management, Fuel Efficiency and Qualifying pace abort themselves as soon as you get purple. For track acclimatisation/race strategy you can pull into the pits once you get purple and don't need to complete the laps.

Having said that, I agree that fuel management feels kinda pointless. I actually ran underfueled at Bahrain and got my a** kicked by a country mile. Now I just run full pelt, as do the AI.
If get all purple on track acclamation then it automaticly finishes as well its only race programme where need to do at least 3 laps to get purple it would be good if added race starts in  there all so would  be good if knew wat team  mate is doing on track if team mate runs same programmes as player then u could test ur times  against  team mate u could do runs at same time to compare like engineer will come on radio and say team mate doing race strag or  quali pace at certain time and have a clock with time

I love all practice programs, except fuel management. I do them all and I think they are useful. Track acclimatisation is very good to remember breaking points and get used to track again (it is the first I always do). Tyre management is awesome to put together lap time and smoothness drive (always the second one I do).

Race Strategy I try to do twice, with two different compounds. However sometimes there is no time left to do the second run.

Qualy sim is very useful to understand if you are as fast as your team expect.

I didn't get this coast thing in fuel management. I only can pass it using short shifting. This one I do only because of resource points.
I like the data from fuel management. Very useful on the very first laps of the race or when you're running out of fuel. After this program you know better what corner you can save fuel and how you do it from lifting the pedal.
