Audio Hiss – F1 2017 PC

Recommended Posts

Its back, same problem as in 2106 version. I have been playing without a problem since release but now have a really annoying hiss. May be due to patch 1.7 or incomparability with RealTek audio drivers after a driver update or recent Windows 10 update?

Seems car speed, not revs, related, may be worse in cockpit and Mercedes? And no, its not the turbo.

Have tried:
Installing and then winding back RealTek audio drivers.
Setting the output to 16bit 48K
Filtering out with equaliser, helps but as its a hiss, its wideband.

Really spoiling the game for me. Would be helpful if I could try winding back 1.7 patch

This is where Steam backups come in handy but I can tell you your Realtek Driver is not up to date.

steviejay69,  thanks for responding. Don't see how steam backups would have helped as, it appears to me, that steam would automatically update any restored game and I can't see a way of turning this off.
I know I am using an out of date RealTek driver, as I said in my original post, I had wound a version back as it was a suspect having been installed recently and after I had last played the game without a problem. Have now also tried a different sound card (and hence driver) with no improvement.
Seems no one else is complaining of this problem in 2107? But for me Its a pity Codemasters have not left the 2016 fix in - reduced high frequency option.
Suppose I will just have put up with it and drive a RedBull where the hiss is less prevalent.
