Favourite and least favourite circuits?

Recommended Posts

As the title explains, just wondering what are everyone's favourite 5 tracks, and why, and which ones are your 5 least favourite .

I'd be interested to see if there are any consistent answers, and also why that might be.

The game itself can play a part in what you may or may not enjoy driving, as I used to love Monaco back in the early games (2010/2011), which may have been down to the increased downforce and fast change of direction of those cars, whereas now I find it frustrating and I can't wait to leave.

Anyway, they can be any track used at any time in the codies F1 games if you want.

Best 5;

1) Silverstone (pre-reconfiguration)
2) San Marino- Imola
3) Magny Cours- France
4) Suzuka-Japan
5) Hockenhiem- Germany (new configuration)

Worst 5;

1) Monaco
2) Singapore
3) C.O.T.A- Texas
4) Melbourne-Australia
5) China

Special mentioned to Spain/Catalunya, Adelaide, Malaysia and (Buddh) India as favourites too.

I will be listing only tracks, that's on the calendar now, so here's my best 5:
  1. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
  2. Albert Park
  3. Silverstone
  4. Red Bull Ring
  5. Spa
Worst 5:
  1. Shanghai International Circuit
  2. Yas Marina Circuit
  3. Baku Street Circuit
  4. Monte Carlo Street Circuit (even though, I kind of love it, but I suck at there)
  5. Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona (same as Monaco, but I just can't get it right there)
Extra:
  1. Sochi Autodrom (Originally hated this one, but it has grown on me, and now I can say, that I actually like it..)

Best 5:
1. Austria
2. Canada
3. Bahrain
4. Italy
5. Russia

Worst 3:
1. Singapore
2. Monaco
3. USA

Everything else I’m pretty indifferent about and performance matters more based on the car I’m in. Street tracks on a pad aren’t the easiest and USA is growing on me when I get it right. Not particularly fond of Mexico either so maybe add that alongside USA.

It's been too long. I can't remember any more. Best Spa worst Singapore but I'll check back if I get the game at some point.

It seems Monaco is not a popular choice...and as it was on my list I appreciate why.

I think you need an absolutely perfect set up to get any enjoyment from Monaco, and it requires extra concentration.

Yeah. Getting 1 lap without losing a part is an achievement on itself.

Worst 5
Malaysia*
Baku*

(I love Malaysia sector 1 and sector 2 but turn 9 and sector 3 is joke at the rear end)
(Baku 2016 was good track but in 2017 codies messed up some curvs)
(I raced there once in f1 2012 and  it just was terrible with my brother)
(In 2015 it was ok track for me but 2016 and 2017 it just too hard to drive with ai's)

Judging by this they need to turn down the difficulty at Monaco
It's the concept behind Monaco. Good players find Monaco too easy. Average players find it hard.

The AI is calculated to be slower, but in Monaco it's different cause the average player is not only slower but is more conservative too.

The one second per 10 points rule doesn't work well in Monaco...

It isn't that I find it harder than anywhere else in a real sense.

I just find it very uninteresting.

The cars cannot show their power and ability because everything is so slow and cramped.

It is boring, ends up a procession, and actually rewards robotic precision instead of daring.

You get to a point where you just cannot go any faster.

It is inherently a limited circuit, and dull because of it, in my opinion.

That is in race conditions, especially if you are in the pack, which tends to be the case as I would think most good players are on the hardest difficulty and as such it is a test to get pole, plus overtaking is difficult, meaning not much really happens.

In a time trial, however, with a clear track, where you can find time to tailor a perfect set up, and where you have the track to yourself and so you can work up a rhythm, it is much better.

But in a race, in my opinion, it is a chore, it is follow the leader, it restricts the cars, castrates them, and ends up a dull, irritating procession.

That is why I picked it as a least favourite, and I suspect why many others did.

Sad to see that Monaco is on everybody's worst list. And everybody basically vote against the most technical circuits. I'm going to guess that's because most players play on a pad.

Singapore is for sure my best and definitely one of my favourites to drive. I can always get into a real nice rhythm around there. In that list I’d probably put Melbourne, Silverstone, China and Monaco too.

Has nothing to do with playing on a pad. I use a pad and am able to be fast at all circuits. Of course I’m better at some tracks than other ones :)
