Track by track AI

Recommended Posts

Good morning,
after several tests carried out on various circuits, it is evident that there are tracks where the AI goes more or less strongly than the set difficulty level.
Assuming an equal difficulty value for all tracks, I would like to know your opinion about it.

Cheers from Italy

no... you is better in certain tracks than anothers
“You are”.

Actually you are both right.

Player pace obviously change depending on the track, but the AI has differences too from track to track.

This is actually one of the most (if not the most) balanced games ever. There are differences from track to track for the player, the AI and even the real drivers.

There are differences but small ones...if you find your self more than a second faster than the AI in a track and more than a second slower in another...it's not caused by the AI...

Monaco is a whole different thing...

My theory is IA follows an invisible line  that  is basically the optimal  part of the track. More the IA level is high, more the car  run faster through the line. What is the difference between an human and a bot? The last one doesn't care if a wall is distant 5 cm from this line. The reason why Monaco is so hard maybe is due to the fact that human is more prone to take mistakes than IA which in Monaco would result in a fatal ending

Exacly. The scale is the same. But it's not perfect for street circuits (and probably rain). In a street circuit an average player is more conservative not only slower (and he is supposed to struggle more in the rain)....

I go through practise and fine tweak the difficulty on a track by track basis.

If I am way faster than ericson I make him faster but since hes pants I usually can go quite high until he gets better than me but I like him to be at a range where if I do not perform he can out pace me so I like a few tengths difference if I perfect ait lap its just funner i messed up in baraign at the corner before the drs under breaking list 2 tengths and he got me by 0.001 i was a 1.33.627 to his 1.33.626 :)

Like everyone has said, a lot of it is down to yourself rather than the AI. Many people have said how difficult Monaco is yet I personally find that one of the easier tracks in terms of outpacing the AI. I seem to lose more time on Bahrain whereas other players could well do better against the AI.

But for the sake of this thread, I'll say that I personally find Australia, Monaco, Canada, Mexico and Monza the easiest and have a more difficult time at Bahrain, Baku, Brazil and Austria on the same difficulty.

Canada seems to be a particularly slow track for AI (or strong for me). I’m in a McHonda on 106AI and I got a 4th place in season one on merit an overhauled and overtook Bottas for the win in season two.

Agreed, I wish the AI at lower levels made mistakes instead of just following their same line slower but with the same perfect precision and consistency.  Or at least that's the sense I get of the AI.

I just did my first Monaco and it was not a pleasant experience.
