HUGE PIT TYRE GLITCH AFTER SWITCHING TYRE COMPOUND LEAGUE RACE

Recommended Posts

AOR League race
lost my front wing (yellow damage, same lap) and changed my strategy to pit this lap. However, my default strategy was supersoft - soft - soft. In order to run the thrid stint on the softs i needed to switch to the mediums as i was about to undercut my 1st stint by 4 laps. As said, i duly switched to mediums in the MFD before the start of sector 3 and enter the pits. To my surprise the pitcrew scres me over by fitting a set of supersofts which:
a) i did not select as you can clearly see a white tyre symbol with the M in the MFD long before i enter the pits
b) i hadnt even planned on a second supersoft stint so why the pitcrew put me on supers is totally beyond me (like, i selected softs for the second stint at the start of the race so if it fitted softs i could perhaps understand the issue at hand here)

i'd like to ask you to urgently look into this matter as changeing your strategy on the go is a huge deal in league racing and quite frankly, i do not trust the game to put me on the correct tyres anymore after i change something in the MFD. As it happened in a league racce i'm bitterly dissappointed and hope you will take this bug seriously as it will destroy the races of other people as well.
Also, if this happens in the ESPORTS final i'd be pissed, you'd look terribly foolish, and more importantly, the first outing of the f1 esports scence will be remembered for the faulty and race destroying game.

note the tyre symbol on the MFD and the tyres that are fitted

game:
PC version - i6600      R9 390     16gb ram      windows 10
Patch 1.9
Multiplayer custom lobby - 19 cars in total, 18 other drivers , hosted by teammate in same country, strict corner cutting, no safety car, full damage, short qualy, 50% race

Did you accept a new strategy from the race engineer and then change the tires in the MFD?

Nope.
I changed tyres, changed front wing damge repair to 'yes' (as the auto feature lets you continue without half a wing...), and came in over the radio with 'box this lap', which was confirmed by Jeff.

That's very annoying then, makes you wonder if the MFD was mislabeled (as it did accept the front wing change) or just a complete disregard for the MFD selection. I haven't had it happen to me and I have changed my next tyres in the MFD quite a few times (all offline though).

@Yuridiculous, did Jeff offer you a strategy change to pit that lap or did you just call "Box this lap"?

If you still have footage of the entire first part of the race that'd be most helpful :)

I've not noticed this before, I've done 3 league races so far and so far no tyre issues. But can you imagine if this happened during the eSports event? It would be very embarrassing for Codemasters!

@CmRachel
no, jeff did not call me in. I came in over the radio to 'box this lap' after i had changed my front wing damage repair to 'yes' and then selected the 'medium' tyres in the MFD. After that i opened the radio (L1 on my ps4 pad), said 'box this lap' which was confirmed and thats where the video starts. sadly i do not have any more footage besides what you have probably already seen. Would love to see it fixed :) I would like to think it is limited to online as i havent had anything like this happen in 3 seasons of offline career but having to suffer it online in a league race is heartbreaking, especially if this happens in esports as i am quite excited to see that ;)

on a side note: love the 1.9 patch, ai are actually pretty good when you manage to find the right difficulty setting ;) thanks!

@Yuridiculous, thanks for the info :)

I've only ever seen this once in Single Player (and I've racked up a huge play time!). I think it's a very specific timing issue somehow given how rare it is unfortunately. I'll keep trying to reproduce it anyway :)
