Teammate bug

I'm starting to lose my patience with the communication regarding this problem.
I want to know if this bug is going to be fixed.
Haven't played for over a week because of it.
The most annoying thing is that it is in the game since launch. Only thing that was stated that is complicated and not was going to be part of 1.9. After that nothing, even after multiple people asking for an update.

I think Codemasters is hoping that we forget or give up and accept the teammate bug. I too have put the game aside until this is fixed. It kind of breaks career for me because I want to win the WCC with Torro Rosso.  Until then, I'm playing NASCAR Heat 2. I never thought I would be playing a NASCAR game and enjoying it.  I thank Codemasters for that.  If they didn't make such a poor quality game my standards wouldn't be so low.

They will NOT fix it or answer you because that's the way codies handle us! Like a piece of garbage! I'm so frustrated since this year! And oh before I forgot...the person behind the "F1Support" is a unfriendly......

 I'm in the UK so I'm used to dreadful customer service, but it must be a bit of a surprise to those who aren't. I know people will make excuses for Codemasters but I used to play the Football Manager series a lot, and even though there were always glitches early on, they would stamp them out pretty quickly with a patch or two. Codies always seem to leave a few issues unresolved in each game. They've already taken our money, so what does it matter to them?
 
 It can't be that hard to fix this thing. It's destroying career mode for those who choose McLaren (like a guy on YouTube I subscribe to, where it's obvious that a bug exists as a well upgraded car is not enough to get Alonso very far up the grid), which is a shame as this is my favourite career mode they've ever done.

Have to agree guys codies have left a lot of ill will because of the lack of communication. I’ve been emailing customer services and asking questions to the support team for over two weeks with no response. The money grab has been done and the fans have been left unhappy. Will patch 1.10 resolve all issues? Unfortunately I think not.

I'm not confident they're going to fix it. They're probably hoping the majority won't notice it for a long time and by then they can say it was too late to fix.

On top of experiencing this myself, and ultimately giving up on the save out of sheer disappointment (driving McLaren alongside Alonso with dreams of getting us both back on the podium was what I bought the game for), the latest example I've seen of this is from a guy who streams every night on Twitch.

He's into season 3 with Vandoorne as his teammate. He races at 105%, and in the beginning, was outpaced by Vandoorne - now he's got all engine power upgrades, battling for podiums. Meanwhile, Vandoorne is 20th in every race.

This *needs* to be fixed. For anyone who buys this game to take on one of this year's biggest plotlines/challenges, as I did, the game will be broken.

This thread is only here for codies that they can't ignore us! We got that massive Career bug since release! I think Codemasters is hoping that we forget or give up and accept the teammate bug. I won't accept that! They got our money and don't fix such a big problem....thats unacceptable!

As a person who spent all of season 1 binging the upgrades, I was solidly in the lower midfield with TR/Haas at the start of season 2, even though Mclaren should at least be the 7th-6th best team (They're obviously upper midfield pace rn). And I quit for a while due to my engine upgrades not applying. Thankfully, that got fixed. 8 races into S2 and I realize Alonso is, well frankly - shit in the races. Do some research, discover this glitch - bam! My interest in that career mode completely out of the window again. Please, for the love of god just fix this simple issue, and maybe buff the Mclaren all around too? Its chassis is at least in the range of the top 3, and the Powertrain at least level with. Saubers. A good, realistic buff would place the engine very similar to sauber, chassis with the top 3, and Aero maybe level with FI. Cheers.

Just to add, all the issues I have with the game right now apart from this will be fixed in the next patch. The teammate bug will be the one final thing that, when eradicated, will make the game perfect for me.

And to Codemasters: I understand that, as you have stated, it's a complex thing to fix, but all we ask for is communication, the odd update. Even if it's just "nothing new to report, but we are working on it", at least it's something and reassures us for another week or so that you're still trying. When we hear nothing, we start to wonder if you've hit a dead end and decided to move on from it and not tell us. And please don't think we won't understand if you explain it to us in detail, the more detail we get, the better.

As an aside, someone stated earlier their more positive experiences with Sports Interactive (who make the Football Manager series). For me, there was a different outstanding issue for FM14, FM15 and FM16. Each one, they acknowledged it existed early on and had around 5 months to fix it. When it came to the last patch, we asked again "What about issue x" and they would finally say (each time) "It will be fixed in the next game". Those were their words. In other words, it would not be fixed unless we paid for it. Clearly they knew how to fix it, because it would be fixed in the next game.

I really hope that this isn't the way Codemasters will go. I've seen how they've listened to the community and fixed things, both with F1 2017 and Dirt Rally. The only problem is when the people in charge of keeping us up to date with things, don't. This is what happens. We all pile into a single thread and worry, and jump to conclusions, and get angry. One little message, once a week, would put all of that on hold, and our faith and respect would be restored.

Another day another thread! Do the same until they fix the bug when you want a fix for the problem ASAP! 

I know it's a bit childish but it seems to be the only way that they do something for their money and community!
