Possible fix to players ignoring blue flags online

Recommended Posts

After a very high number of online races suffering players who deliberately ignore the blue flags simply to ruin the race, to make fun, and on the other hand, to ruin the public rooms experience of this game, I have an idea to fix this problem. Keep in mind that not all of us can join serious leagues online for scheduling issues.

How about if all that player who is 5 seconds ahead of the player who is leading the race is automatically eliminated? In this way we make sure that nobody ignores the blue flags. After all, what a sense it can have to go last to more than 1 lap away with the leader in races of 5 laps or 25%, which are usually the most used in public halls.

I do not know, I'm just fed up. What do you think?

The biggest issue in the game as in online standards is that blue flags doesn't really exist. Under normal circumstances anyone moving slow enough to cause issues should be ghosted, but the game as evolved to a point where that deems to be too unrealistic therefore giving Diss drivers (Diss = Drivers incapable of steering straight) a chance to ruin other peoples races.

The bottom line answer would be to either AI control the people deliberately driving slow till they speed up, or disqualify them if they don't get back to racing speed within a certain time limit. Something that will basically ruin their chances to ruin someone else's race. I agree this issue leads a lot of people to want to make leagues to avoid these calamities (I myself have got one going as a result of all this) but the reality of the situation is that codies need to make a system that penalises Diss drivers and keep online clean and exciting.
