FIA World Rallycross Championship 2018

Recommended Posts

Yeah, Solberg seems to be planning on using the R5 somehow this year.
I think everyone expected him to do Sweden, but he's already announced he'll be doing the Historic rally again instead; may be that he's rented his R5 to Ostberg or another customer. His son Oliver (forum member I believe) is using his car for some Latvian rounds (where you can rally very young).

An onder spec 2016 spec it seems
Yeah, the car is described as a "Peugeot Sport" 208, but appears to be an older specification car: to me though the only true Peugeot Sport cars are those built for the 2018 season.

Interesting. Steve Arpin announced they (Loenbro) will switch back to the Fiesta chassis for this ARX season. Still mentions Hoonigan, so I guess Ken Block will also be in action, but also in a Fiesta?

Was always the car they should have used. That's what happens when a marketing team decide how a team is going to be run!

Could also be a decision based on parts availability (Fiesta there is enough, and Block crashed a lot of Focus parts), and suitable for the American tracks. It would be good to see the Focus still in DR2.0 for a good goodbye

Both the Fiesta and Focus were products of M-Sport, so I can't see spares being an issue for either. I personally think the results speak for themselves and, although I may be misinterpreting the interviews, Block himself always suggested that the decision to use the Focus wasn't his.

I think Block might use the Focus again as a solo entrant, but Arpin has free choice and the Fiesta is the better car.

As you say, would be nice to see the Focus in DR2.0. I am hoping for an ARX DLC.

The Fiesta is based on the R5/WRC and shares a lot of parts with it, while the Focus has no Rallyversion and just 3 cars made.
Loenbro employee said on instagram that the Focus will retire and he has 'no idea' if the Focus will be in DR2.0.

Loenbro has two Fiesta.
One is build up already. Has the blue rims and looks like will be Block's car.
The other other is left on the picture and still need to be rebuild completely.

Yeah, Loenbro have two (M-Sport) Fiestas. Those cars were both for sale last year, guess they are keeping them now!

Be interesting to know what Block is planning. If he was going to switch back to a Fiesta I'd expect him to run his own RX43 rather than a Loenbro car.

Wonder if he will go back to Ford?

What factory supported teams are left, Subaru only?

I am going to guess the second driver they are looking to sign will be Foust.
