Starting a career

Recommended Posts

Hi all. About to start a career. Would like to confirm 2 things with you before I start.

1- Can I save, let say, after a FP is completed or qualification before doing the race, or it is preferable to do the full weekend in one shot not to create possible weird stuff happening with results (data) or software that could make things awkward? If I can save after a portion of the weekend (i.e. FP) how do I do this?

2- Probably somewhat answered before, but what would be the recommended program trial if we do one per FP (to reduce wear on the engine) for the maximum number of R&D points and in which order (FP1, FP2, FP3).

Many thanks!!!

1. Apparently if you get extra bonus R&D points you can loose them if you don't continue to next weekend. If auto save is on its all good after that.

2. I do as much as possible in P1 if its dry, wet weather can increase wear if you slide a lot or rev too high from throttling it too hard in the rain. Do all the R&D including the extra list to the far right of the test screen and read it first before starting any tests as you can do them all in various parts of practice. I.e, fastest sector 1 so you know you have to nail that for sure, and different setups, if you already have your preferred setup use it later, just run straight out normal setup for the track acclimatisation as its not timed so you don't need the fastest set up. And that will stop you having to go out more than you need to, therefore saving wear.

Each R&D give the same points but you get bonus points for completing the list.
