G920 wheel constantly loses center during racing

Question

Logitech G290 wheel loses center by upwards of 45 degrees left or right during racing. Had this wheel for a few months and haven't had the issue in other games yet happens within 10 minutes of playing F1 2017. Have uninstalled the game and reinstalled but the problem persists.

Once the wheel is set up in Windows and working fine, when starting the game, roll out in the pit lane and rotate the wheel from lock to lock when in the pause menu.

This seems to cure it, but you need to do it every time to be sure.

This assumes you have already updated the wheel firmware via USB on a PC.

Bump. Also if you are on PC try removing your LGS with Geek Uninstaller and reinstalling. Don't save your profiles, just make new.

The thinking is Geek uninstaller removes some registry cruft that sorts the wheel out. You could also try USBDeView and remove any unused / uninstalled / removed USB device entries.

A lot of problems in this game seem to revolve around USB, ironic really given I don't know any other method that a controller (wheel or pad) would connect by.
