There's a good chance F1 2018 will have a beta

Recommended Posts

Asked Formula 1 game on Twitter and they seem to be hinting at it. So I'd place my bet that there will be a more open beta this year but of course we wont know for sure until it's announced.

Is it a patched F1 2017 to test?!? Lol

Shorty short short
I'm not kidding, if they added NO new features, just fixed all the issues with 2017 and made it with the 2018 cars and tracks. I'd be SOOO happy.

I'd be so happy too .... oh only if this was released as a free DLC!!

There is no chance I would pay more money to a company that just fixes the bugs they caused themselves in the old game, upgraded the look of the cars and rebranded it 2018 in the hope to sell it for full whack a year later. You would be basically paying £100 for 1 game that should've been delivered the year before (without the 2018 cars of course).

If there is a beta for 2018 (which i can only assume there will be), i hope the people accepted take the thing more seriously as a test rather tan early access to the game. Last year they had to add more people since so many were just playing with friends with little to no feedback to give. More bugs would be getting fixed by the launch time if the closed beta was more efficient.

I've spoken to a few of the testers and from what I was told they were asked to play with their friends. One of the main focuses of F1 2017 beta was to test multiplayer. Also beta isn't early access to a game. Correct me if I am wrong but I believed F1 2017 beta was 2016 with the new features they were implementing into 2017. Another issue in your comment, quite a few of the bugs were not actually present in testing and the ones that were there got reported with some being removed and others staying for the full release. I'd love to see your source on all of this.

@rabbitbAJ
Actually F1 2017 beta was F1 2017 in fact, not F1 2016 with changes. And yes, a lot of testing was done on Multiplayer, the problem was that a lot of players didn't play it because they didn't like Multiplayer overall, so it was hard to find others in the game, that's why we were asked to bring in a few of our friends. And about the bugs, there are bugs that weren't in the game during Beta, and there were bugs we reported but still didn't got fixed for the release. Also, we didn't get to test Career mode. Codemasters' communication was good in my opinion, they were listening to us most of the time, the only thing I would revise is the way they choose testers and the way Beta is conducted.

Most of the major issues in the current game were not present in the beta so it's wrong to say that not enough feedback was given because there was tons and tons of feedback,the problem was too few testers and people just got bored of pounding round the same 3 tracks,and that's where it became people just larking about with their friends.Now i will not be buying the next instalment at release because I felt cheated by the beta process last year it convinced me to buy the game and what we got at release bore small relation to the beta we had tested just a few weeks before,but for those poor souls who will continue to board the hype train I think it's imperative that this years beta be an open beta so the game gets properly stress tested and people can always find a lobby to test race in.
