I know, built in 1970 which means she is 50 this year (Next month SHHHHH, she'll want special attention), I swear she knows when I am wondering if she is going to cost me extra this month.

Actually I must be losing track of time, not next month but a few days.  I bought Bess in 1988.  As a volunteer for Op Granby Bess was left in the care of the Gurkha regiment for the duration and when I did get back she was very moody with little gremlins all over the place.  Possibly the reason why petrol heads love cars etc.

Yes mate, after Bessy Bunter an OLD comic character from the sixties.  Being honest the Type 3 was too late for her time with tech that goes back to the 1930's.  She was designed for comfort rather than speed with a collection of bits and pieces of Beetle and Camper which were adapted for the purpose with a new body.  The one claim to fame is that the Type 3 shares rear axle layout with very early Porsche 911 and 912 and while the 911 is a faster motor, the 912 with a lighter engine in the back has a much sweeter handling balance.  If I ever get that lottery win or sell my designs for serious dosh I will and I mean WILL, have a 912 and an Alfaholics Guilia restomod.  850kg and 230bhp.  The rather serious drawback is that they cost north of £190k.  Even when I say it quickly I get a muscle pucker.

@Mike1158, ah OK. I didn't realise the Type 3 shares parts from the original Beetle and camper vans. Now you mention it, looking at your earlier image of old Bessy, I can parts and stylings taken from the original Beetle and camper vans. I have really looked much into the history of the Volkswagen Type 3. I think I should though! 😉 🙂

Yeap that's the only drawback.

But remember these cars were hand built by Honda and in standard form 155 mph and designed for track and daily use.

These are the original and best honda type R

I think 5000 of them were produced.

As regards to front wheels I prefer rear wheel drive but these cars handle amazing on the track.

I do occasionally have to replace wheel studs where with slick tyres it can twist or bend them..

But I uprated everything. Engine mounts .bushes you name it.

Apexi controller   triple Racing clutch plates which in traffic makes your clutch legs shakes lol.

Example. Injectors standard 1.75.  .  Racing injectors 7.50

I must admit wit turbo and vtec it runs great . But last 2 or 3 years its motd every year but sits covered up in garage lol.

When I am long gone. Maybe someone will discover it and make someone happy.

.back in the vin diesel fast and furious days 🤣🤣🤣

@senna94f1, I agree, front wheel drive is a draw back. It's cheaper, but never as nice as rear or all wheel drive. Rear wheel drive is also my favourite.

Not too many Honda Integra Type R's were produced worldwide, but I am unsure how many without looking it up.

Mines number 3999 out of around 5000

These cars were hand built by the Honda specialist team.

None of this i knew before I bought car in i think 2004.

Poor thing built in 2000 .and 20 years old .I can't believe how quickly time goes by..

Bought another new battery 1 year ago and never used it so 2 brand new batteries in 5 years and because I don't hardly use the Honda integra type R the battery goes flat over couple of months

Maybe its time to sell it.but  TBH IT DOESN'T really cost that much stored in my warm cosy garage covered 🤔 over.

Who knows perhaps in 40 years time when I am over 90 years old someone may discover car lol

I'll add it here.

At the moment, I have a Alfa Romeo Mito Quadrifoglio Verde, which is nice. But about a year ago, I very reluctantly sold my 09 Mazda RX8 R3, which I regret since taking this job as I don't drive to work now (Image for those who don't recognise it- not my exact one but the same). Stupid MPG (was lucky to get 18), unpredictable in the winter, tax was horrible, but sounded like a rocket ship and was a dream to drive. Miss her every day 😛
