F1 2018 - Will we get a functioning, working safety car?

@jennyannem @Faya - If you cannot answer any questions about multiplayer in the upcoming game, can you please point us in the right direction to someone who can answer our (extremely valid) concerns.
If they say: "SC in multiplayer will work perfect" people in the forums will just say "stuff like that has been said in the past - don't preorder."
If they say: "We do our best to make it work" people in the forums will say "yeah just like last year - don't preorder."

There's no right answer at the moment, so they don't answer at all, I'd guess.
I'm just assuming that SC will be in multiplayer since it was there in '17 as well.
And the game is not yet finished, so maybe it's simply too early to answer your question.

And if you want to make sure it's working properly? Check if AOR league runs it once the leagues start. They prefer to enable it - if working properly.
I'm not expecting them to say something luke "it's fixed" but something like "we acknowledge the issues in the previous game and are trying our best to address them in f1 2018"

Yet, at this stage, we can't even get acknowledgement there are issues, even with the plethora of posts.

It should be clear for everyone that you will never get an answer from codies to a queston like "Did you fix [....]"
If anything at all, you would get a comment like "We reworked [....]" which does not answer your question. The only time you will be able to read the word "fixed" by a game developer it will be in patch-notes. And for this, the game has to be out first...
Don't take this that seriously. I just wanted to show something from the past. You have a quite a good point.

Question: "Have the long waits in the pits been fixed?"
Answer: "Yes, fixed!" (Well technically they also said it was reworked, but it also answered the question)

Question: "Did you fix the 3rd sector time on the display when in the garage? All other drivers came up but not the player. Major problem!"
Answer: "Yes, this was fixed"

Question: "have you fixed the AI in qualifying so that the cars on track are not just for show but actually do real lap times?"
Answer: "Yes, all the AI cars set proper times in all sessions now."

I highly doubt they'll ever get it fixed in this engine.

Safety Car has been broken for years. They fixed certain issues with and just created new ones, in an endless cycle.
I totally agree, IMHO they will be able to fix (many problems they have) it only with changing of the engine, which will come not earlier than with next generation of consoles ... SC is not working since it was added to the game and every year, we don't hear anything more about advanced parts of the game which should be improved (and at first fixed), but new great features for casual racers like legendary old cars ... :-(

Well we finally at least got a comment from @Faya in the official hud thread.... it seems we gotta kick off in here, start a few arguments if you want any acknowledgement from codies.

Good to finally see a proper response to something that's been a point of discussion on these forums for so long though. Let's hope there'll be more dev/community manager statements like that even without a bunch of arguments first ;)

People who are flagging abuse I am being sarcastic because vincenzo19 said we have got to kick off to get a response  :D

You'll have to explain that one mate... Sarcasm is easily lost in text.

Since you noted that we have to kick off some heated arguments in order to get CodeMasters to respond, I think that post was jokingly intended to kick off a fake argument in the hopes for more interaction from CodeMasters. That's how I interpreted it.

Nah but for real, will we get a functioning, working safety car? @Faya

The game is out next month. Either the safety car problems have been resolved, or not. Just let us know already.

@jennyannem

We're asking whether or not the safety car issues from last years game are being addressed in this years game.

Just say "No" if that's the case. The fact no one from CM wants to comment on this is extremely frustrating a disappointing.

If history is any indicator no news is usually bad news, but the way they flat out just ignore you makes me angry it’s just utter contempt, just say something even if it’s we don’t know, this is why I will not put another penny in the codies coffers #VoteWithYourWallet

Yeah exactly. Straight up ignoring our concerns is never a good sign, and by now I am quite certain that last year's issues will again be this year's issues.
But it's just rude, how our concerns are ignored like that because we might be a small minority of the players or something like that, while other parts of the game get a lot of attention.

An interesting thread from twitter... nothing concrete, but it seems they are making improvements to the online experience and SC.

For those who can't be bothered to get twitter to work, I think the most important part of those tweets were "We spoke briefly about multiplayer. The team are working hard on improving the existing multiplayer and its issues. He said the decision was made to improve and sort the existing multiplayer rather than add loads of new features, aside from the license system."

I`m happy with that , if they can pull it off.

But why not "engage" with the Community on this , I have no idea.

Can only be that they dont see the need for it.

They rarely do. They often say "as soon as we have something to announce, you'll be the first to know," but news & announcements are most often made available elsewhere first (gaming media, retailers, YouTube, etc.).

It was never resolved in 2017. Would like to know if some effort has gone into rectifying it in 2018.
It wasn't even fully fixed in F1 2016. You were fooled once. Sure you want to be fooled twice?
