F1 2018 - Will we get a functioning, working safety car?

If it's a "No" they won't say it because they don't want to lose customers. If it's a "Yes" they won't say it because they would be lying.

nah im really hyped for the new game, as it looks really great..

but i dont get it why they just dont give a answer to the question if they worked on the SC and so on.

If they would be clear the most people wouldn't be dissapointed.

Its just the same every year, the game will come out, jenny and co will be active for some time and then we will nearly nothing hear again.

I think the codemasters audio guys have answered some questions in another thread. But that has been the only real communication here I think.

It's impossible for Codemasters to answer this question right now because they don't know the answer. I'm sure they've been working on a solution but that solution cannot be tested until real world environment gives them the answer... that is people connected to multiplayer from multiple countries on a massive scale. 
Unfortunately they did a private beta, if the beta was public multiplayer we and they'd know already.
Oh and if the SC is coded the same in this years game then it will be the same outcome online. Nothing they tried worked lol.

You can't say that they dont know that it was broken before the release in 2017.

There are to much bugs that happen to often for this case.

They had never a working SC in the game.

Pretty sure they(we, lol) test it, but mostly don't fix it.

I think it's rather telling that in one of the official videos the game option screen was shown and the safety car was turned OFF. Im 99% sure of my memory in this

For 3 and 5 lap races, the SC is unavailable.  This has always been the case.  

I feel that no answer from Codemasters is their answer.  They won't risk losing a single sale by telling the community things they don't want to hear.    They cannot lie and answer "Yes, the SC has been worked on and improved.", so no answer is their answer.  The safety-car functionality remains in the same state as 2017.  Just watch the animations for the celebrations and team interactions.  All carried over from 2017.  As is the entirely redundant commentary, that almost everybody skips. I'm willing to bet it's the same for the SC.  I won't buy 2018 until it is proven otherwise.

No working safety car equals no purchase for me. 5 seasons into my 2017 career with my McLaren fully upgraded and all the extra championships to do there is no reason to start all over from the beginning again. When it's 11.99 I will get it for the classic cars maybe. They handle like arcade mode in 2017. But all that's off topic now.
3 and 5 lap races in a trailer emphasise who the target audience is.

It's like this Forum is some kind of riddle and we have to find the correct phrase in order to summon a CM.
