CrazerLaPd 0 Posted May 21, 2018 I would like to see a lot more tyre management in the game. In F1 2017, tyre wear is the only aspects that is working. The tyre temp and brake temp are only there for showcase. It would be good if F1 2018 able to bring a full fledged tyre management where we need to constantly have a look at the temp which affects the grip level. And the tyres need to be harder to warm up. Under safety car, the main thing players should concentrate is to try bring up the tyre temp. If it's cold, there should be a reasonable amount of understeer or if too much steering input applied, the car can oversteer and spin. In real F1, tyre management is one of the most important thing for good performance. Tyre wear is only a part of the equation. For true F1 immersion, players should have certain level of stress to monitor the tyre temp. Right now, no one looks at the tyre temp window. It would also be easier if the tyre temp window shows different shades of color to indicate optimum, suboptimal, cold or overheated tyres to have a quick glace during intense racing. The startline procedure also can be changed. The entire reason for formation lap in F1 is to heat up the tyres. But in F1 2017, we have a pointless formation lap that gets taken over by the game too early and doesn't have any effect when the lights go out. Most people play the game without the formation lap as it is pointless. The car should only be taken over by the game when the car is almost near the allocated grids. It will help with some last min burnout that can be done to push heat into the tyres. And once the car stops on the grid, automatically the tyre temp window should pop up to indicate the tyre cooling down. So front row runners might have slightly lesser grip compared to back rows. From my point of view, these are not fundamental changes to game, just some updates to the current coding. I'm pretty sure guys in codies can do this. It will go along way to add a heightened level of immersion on race weekends.
Akkan74 260 Posted May 21, 2018 Yes, i think the whole tyre management should be reworked. I never experienced a change in the tyre temperatures if you change the tyre pressure, which is an important point in F1. At Bahrain Kimi asked his Engineer what he could do to heat up the tyres more. At most YouTube videos i‘ve seen people driving fast in formation lap without heating up the tyres and brakes and they start as normal as any other driver. So i think it‘s only for immersion but it doesn‘t have any effect.
marsal79 0 Posted May 22, 2018 problem is.... 2018 there is no tyre managment in real F1- they all are simply to hard- 1 stop is no problem :smirk:

I need to drive close to flat out to beat the time that's been allocated. But in doing so, the slider is mostly in Red territory. Only if I lift off & coast through the corners the slider slips towards the right (green & purple). I've to coast way more than required in order to clear the programme. Even if I fail the programme, I still manage the tyres well enough to finish the race without slipping & sliding much.
UtubMaze 8 Posted May 23, 2018 Yes!! Tyre temperature should play a big role on the tyre’s performance
