For those worried about the Halo in cockpit view, it looks like you will be able to remove the middle part of the Halo so that it doesn't interfere with your vision.

Surprised they actually were able to do that. Didn't think FOM would allow it.

I hope the tyre temps really do make a BIG difference like in IRL.

Starts may be more interesting and different, also qualifying can be more exciting because we then have to really warm up the tyres as much as possible for a good grip throughout the hotlap.

Let's just hope what aarava and Lee Mather said about tyre temps is real and not just PR BS.

Thankfully they have some sense that it's a game not real life. I was always thinking it would impact your view in game as you just cannot implement the binocular vision we have in real life and seeing as it appears there's no VR either, how else would they do it. No brainer methinks and very welcome!

about the Halo I hope the middle bar would not be completely removed but rather transparent/see trough because it would look totally weird to have part of it shown and the middle completely cutout IMO.

I see good room for improvement on that. Whenever you are driving, the tires are usually in optimal temperature windows. They maybe heat up slightly in some corners, but not enough to notice anything. Then again, I can't remember if any game actually gave you a lot of handling issues with hot tires, but cold tires were noticeable, not that you'd ever have cold tires unless you park the car for half a minute. Too high temperatures mostly increased the wear I think.

It's already very noticeable in F1 2017, whenever your tyres go over 110° you will slide and can easily spin

Yeah after watching aarava's vids tonight it does sound promising so lets hope it's not just another PR stunt and these things actually are in the game. Still not 100% sure it's a day 1 buy for me yet but it's given me something to consider which is good. But it is working towards a maybe purchase later rather than a skip now.

I'd agree completely. Not sure why no one posted aarava's video about interviews but it sounds really good and probably the best part so far for me.

the only way you can spin the car in F1 2017 is on throttle and even then you have to stab the throttle violently. The car will not spin OFF throttle unless someone hits you because of the over welming forced stability controll.
