Car updates after release?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys and workers from Codemasters,

I have a question about the car liveries after release... can you keep an eye to the cars liveries after you release the game (with sending some workers to the gp's to draw the basic car-elements, which are new) and then release updates for them? It would make sense, because it would be updated liveries for everyone and after season ends, you can make plans for next year :)

Just a question maybe you like it or not ^^

Thx and enjoy Free Practice 2 at #FrenchGP now???

Actually they did this closly every year. So I'm 100% sure they will update the cars after release. It was in... F1 2015, F1 2016, F1 2017 etc.
Also just as information. Codemasters are allowed to update the cars only twice a season.

Seriously said:
Codemasters are allowed to update the cars only twice a season.
Why?
And I only noticed it when the (release version of the game) Australian GP of the Mercedes was updated to the Spain GP version?

I don't know exactly why they're only allowed to do it twice, but one of the devs from Codies said this once here in the forum. (long time ago though)
To your 2nd sentence: Actually Codemasters made very often only one car update in a season. I wish they would do one car update from Spain or so and the 2nd one at the end of the season. I think they did a car update twice only in F1 2015 and after that only once. Well, let's hope they'll do it again.

This question gets asked every year. Car updates normally happen a couple of months after release.

Teams have to approve it to, and with them fighting for points they’re not interested in signing off the models.

I just hope they start doing an age approval thing where they can start showing all sponsors like Martini and the big main one Heineken! You have to be able to show the big F1 sponsor! You just need either 2 versions, one for underage/religion and one for mature audiences. Or a warning at game start up, age or a tick box stating you approve or disapprove of showing alcohol sponsoring, that would be really up and coming of Codies ;) You know it makes sense.

Agreed, as an global sponsor, Heineken needs to be mentioned, (ah forgot about the beta, you heard nothing)* but you can maybe add the 'When you drive, never drink' logo on the track, because this one is used too and might help for the ratings, because it's no alcoholic sponsorship, only a famous sentence for the global viewers.!!!!

Other sponsors which might need approval (but I don't think that THEY will make it to the game):

- Johnnie Walker (maybe #JoinThePact as the same as above for Heineken! There is a little chance)
- Martini (surely not in game!)

So to come to the end, this is my prognosis:
*Seeing alcoholic sponsors in-game chances*

Heineken: 75%
Johnnie Walker: 20%
Martini: 5%

Yeah they're more interested in their own fights than us.
